Base Class: Barbarian
“A Barbarian’s rage can take many forms, with many manifesting as raw power linked to an aspect of the world. However, those of the Path of the Pallbash invoke an air of wonder in their anger, melding the whims and reality of others toward their preference as opposed to raw grit, though they can work in tandem…”.
Level 3: Whispering Cloakage
At 3rd level, while your Rage is active, your very reasons for anger form as an aura around yourself. Until your Rage ends, you gain the following properties:
- Poetic Presence. You either emit a 20ft-radius of bright light or normal darkness, both of which you can persist and see through normally without penalty (if any would apply) and can be disabled by a spell creating their opposing effect equal to your Proficiency bonus. Additionally, you can disable this effect or reactivate this effect as a Bonus Action on each of your turns, but it cannot be reactivated if dispelled until you start your Rage again.
- Soul Strikes. Once per turn, when you hit a creature with a Melee Weapon or Unarmed Attack, you deal an additional amount of Psychic damage equal to your Rage Damage Modifier.
- Strength of Character. While your Rage persists, you can now use your Primal Knowledge feature when you make an Insight or Persuasion skill check, in addition to the feature’s list of skills.
Level 6: Constant Chatter
At 6th level, you receive a permanent, smaller aspect of your will to persist even without your Rage being active. At the end of every long rest, choose one of the following features:
- Light. You gain resistance to radiant damage, and your hit point maximum cannot be reduced.
- Shadow. You gain resistance to necrotic damage, and you are immune to the Blinded condition
- Mind. You gain resistance to psychic damage, and all melee attacks you make have a range of 10ft rather than their standard 5ft.
Level 10: Brutal Enchantment
At 10th level, you gain an additional Brutal Strike Effect as listed below:
- Mesmerizing Blow. Your Brutal Strike’s additional damage is considered Psychic damage when using this blow. Additionally, the target has disadvantage on their next attack before the end of their next turn, as a mote of light or darkness clouds their sight.
Level 14: Voices of Valor
At 14th level, your Poetic Presence feature extends to a 60ft-radius, with your light now being considered sunlight, and your darkness being considered magical. You can still persist and see through these effects without penalty (if any would apply), and they still dispel as previously specified. Additionally, any damage dealt by an attack that is benefiting from your Soul Strikes feature now ignores resistance to any associated damage(s), but not immunity. Lastly, your Strength of Character feature now allows you to use your Primal Knowledge feature when you make a Wisdom or Charisma saving throw in addition to the feature’s skill checks.
