Base Class: Fighter

A path forged in the blood-soaked sands of the Chultan fighting pits, the Way of the Bloodied Jaguar is a brutal and agile combat style passed down through warriors who learned to survive by embracing the ferocity of the jungle’s apex predators. Practitioners of this deadly art are more than mere gladiators—they are hunters, stalking their prey with relentless speed and overwhelming force. To fight in this way is to embody the spirit of the jaguar, to strike with precision, to tear through defenses, and to revel in the thrill of battle. Each movement is calculated, each strike designed to cripple, maim, or kill. There is no hesitation, no mercy—only instinct and bloodlust.

Origins of the Bloodied Jaguar

The Bloodied Jaguar fighting style is said to have been born in the depths of the Chultan jungles, where warriors watched the great spotted cats hunt their prey. The jaguar does not chase endlessly like a wolf nor rely on brute force like a lion; it waits, poised, until the moment to strike is perfect. With a single, explosive pounce, it drags its prey to the ground, its fangs piercing the skull, ending the hunt in one motion.

This philosophy of combat was refined in the slave pits of Port Nyanzaru, where captured warriors were forced to fight for the amusement of the wealthy. Those who lived long enough adapted, combining their ancestral knowledge with the savagery of the arena. The Bloodied Jaguars became a feared force, their movements unpredictable, their strikes lethal. Their bodies became weapons, their minds sharpened to a singular focus—survival.

Fighting Style

The Way of the Bloodied Jaguar emphasizes raw, untamed aggression blended with precise, tactical movement. Warriors of this path learn to fight unburdened by heavy armor, relying instead on their speed, reflexes, and sheer willpower. They dart across the battlefield, leaping over obstacles, tumbling beneath strikes, and striking from unexpected angles. Their weapons of choice vary—many favor the macuahuitl, the obsidian-toothed sword that can cleave through flesh like a butcher’s knife, while others wield daggers, claws, or even their bare hands.

A Bloodied Jaguar does not simply trade blows with an opponent; they toy with them, exhausting them before delivering the killing strike. They leap into battle like a predator descending upon its prey, using momentum to fuel their strikes. And when the battle seems lost, their sheer refusal to fall keeps them standing long after any other warrior would have succumbed.

Level 3: Predator’s Rush

“A jaguar does not hesitate—it strikes when the moment is right.”

  • Your body has been honed into a weapon, allowing you to fight with agility and instinct. While you are not wearing armor, your Armor Class equals 10 + your Dexterity modifier + your Constitution modifier.
  • When you move at least 20 feet before making a melee attack, your first successful hit deals an extra 1d6 damage and forces the target to make a Strength saving throw (DC = 8 + proficiency bonus + your Strength or Dexterity modifier). On a failure, the target is knocked prone as you slam into them with unstoppable force.

Level 3: Warrior’s Instincts

"In the arena, hesitation is death. On the battlefield, awareness is survival."

Your instincts have been sharpened through endless battles, allowing you to read the flow of combat and react with uncanny speed. You gain the following benefits:

  • Jaguar’s Reflexes: You can add your proficiency bonus to Initiative rolls if you aren’t surprised.
  • Unyielding Focus: You have advantage on saving throws against being charmed or frightened.

Level 7: Additional Fighting Style

You gain another Fighting Style feat of your choice.

Level 10: Bloodied Endurance

"A jaguar does not fear the wound. The wound fears the jaguar."

  • You have learned to fight even on the edge of death. If you take damage that would reduce you to 0 hit points, you can make a Constitution saving throw (DC 15). On a success, you drop to 10 hit points instead.
  • Whenever you reduce a creature to 0 HP, you gain temporary hit points equal to your proficiency bonus + your Constitution modifier.

Dance of Claws

"The arena is not just a battlefield—it is a stage. And I am the last performer my enemy will ever see."

  • Your mastery of rapid, relentless strikes makes you a terror in close combat. When you attack with a light or finesse weapon, you can make an additional attack as a bonus action.
  • Whenever you score a critical hit, you can move up to 15 feet immediately without provoking opportunity attacks.

Level 15: Superior Critical

Your attack rolls with weapons and Unarmed Strikes can now score a Critical Hit on a roll of 18–20 on the d20.

Level 18: Survivor

You attain the pinnacle of resilience in battle, giving you these benefits.

Defy Death. You have Advantage on Death Saving Throws. Moreover, when you roll 18–20 on a Death Saving Throw, you gain the benefit of rolling a 20 on it.
