The Oath of Non-Disclosure Paladins protect secrecy above all else. Typically, they pledge themselves to an organization, acting as enforcers for their deals and contracts. They excel at making sure that their targets cannot divulge information that may be damaging to the organization, whether the secrets are personal anecdotes, trade secrets, or potential criminal activity. With the backing of their, typically wealthy, organization, they use any means to protect these secrets, not limited to their namesake Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDAs), other legal documents, bribery, and blackmail with violence typically reserved as a last resort.

Most Oath of Non-Disclosure Paladins are calm and decisive, stoically carrying out the organization's orders. They are typically well-read and well-compensated, using their wealth to grease the right palms. They can make for useful and powerful allies, but can quickly switch to a dangerous foe if the party's interests come into conflict with their patron... though, money has a way of making them come around.

These paladins live by the following tenets:

  • Binding Contracts: Adhere to a contract to the letter and always make sure the terms favor yourself and patron organization. Loopholes may be freely exploited.
  • Confidentiality: Information is power and controlling the flow of it helps keep that power on your side.
  • Recompense: Breach of contract is a serious offense and it's up to you to punish the offenders. Maintain silence and minimize damage to the organization.

Level 3: Oath of Non-Disclosure Spells

3rd-level Oath of Non-Disclosure feature

The magic of your oath ensures you always have certain spells ready; when you reach a Paladin level specified in the Oath of Non-Disclosure Spells table, you thereafter always have the listed spells prepared.

Oath of Non-Disclosure Spells
Paladin Level Spells
3 Charm Person, Illusory Script
5 Silence, Zone of Truth
9 Counterspell, Tongues
13 Banishment, Charm Monster
17 Legend Lore, Modify Memory

Level 3: Veil of Privacy

3rd-level Oath of Non-Disclosure feature

You operate in the shadows, ensuring secrets are kept. You can't be targeted by Divination spells or perceived through magical scrying sensors unless you allow it.

Level 3: Cease and Desist

3rd-level Oath of Non-Disclosure feature

You can bind your foes with legal threats to prevent them from acting. You can use a Magic action and expend one use of your Channel Divinity to force one creature you can see within 30 feet of you to make an Intelligence saving throw against your spell save DC. On a failure, the creature is Charmed by you for 1 minute. While Charmed in this way, it cannot take Actions on its turn. It can repeat this saving throw at the end of each of its turns, ending the effect on a success. Another creature may use an Action to grant the creature Advantage on their next save to end this effect.

Level 7: Aura of Censure

7th-level Oath of Non-Disclosure feature

Your aura prevents enemies from spilling secrets. No sound can be created or pass through your Aura of Protection. Any creature or object entirely inside your aura has Immunity to Thunder damage. Other than you, all creatures inside your aura have the Deafened condition and cannot cast spells that include a Verbal component (as if under the Silence spell).

Level 15: Non-Compete

15th-level Oath of Non-Disclosure feature

Violence is often unnecessary when a binding contract can quickly remove their will to fight. As a Magic action, you can force all creatures of your choice that you can see within 15 feet of you to make an Intelligence saving throw against your spell save DC. On a failure, the creature is Charmed by you for up to 10 minutes. While an enemy is Charmed in this way, you and your allies cannot attack them, target them with harmful spells or abilities, or deal them damage. The creature can repeat this saving throw at the end of each of their turns, ending the effect on a success.

If combat concludes while enemies are Charmed in this manner, allies and enemies typically depart peacefully.

You can use this feature twice and regain all expended uses when you finish a Long Rest. You can also expend a Channel Divinity to regain one use of this ability (no action required).

Level 15: Corporate Shill

15th-level Oath of Non-Disclosure feature

Your patrons have deep pockets. Whenever you cast a spell with a costly material component, you may expend gold equal to half the value of the required material component instead of the component.
