Base Class: Paladin
"Was there ever any doubt?"
This Paladin doesn’t serve a god, but The Narrative—the grand, unseen force that ensures they are always in the right place, at the right time, with just the right amount of dramatic flair. To outsiders, they exude unshakable confidence, almost as if they know they can’t lose. To them, it's not arrogance—it’s simply fate unfolding as it should.
Tenets of Inevitability
Destiny Favors the Bold – Step forward with confidence. The odds are always in your favor.
Every Moment is a Scene – Speak with conviction, fight with passion, and never waste an opportunity for an epic moment.
Doubt is for the Weak – You never lose. You merely allow others to believe they have won… for now.
Level 3: Oath of inevitability Spells
The magic of your oath ensures you always have certain spells ready; when you reach a Paladin level specified in the Oath of Devotion Spells table, you thereafter always have the listed spells prepared.
| Paladin Level | Spells |
|---|---|
| 3 | Command, Heroism |
| 5 | Hold Person, Mirror Image |
| 9 | Haste, Counterspell |
| 13 | Dimension Door, Death Ward |
| 17 | Wall of Force, Legend Lore |
Level 3: Plot Armor
"Oh, you thought that was gonna hit me? Adorable." You can use your Channel Divinity to manifest the sheer absurdity of your continued survival. When you are hit by an attack, you can use your reaction to cast the Shield spell, increasing your AC by +5 until the start of your next turn. You can use this a number of times per long rest equal to your Proficiency Bonus. This makes Cockroach hilariously hard to kill while keeping it balanced (since Shield already exists in the game). It also keeps him consistently tanky instead of just relying on once-per-rest gimmicks.
when he uses shield it will still "hit" it just doesn't actually deal dmg.
Level 7: Aura of Confidence
Your sheer unshakable belief radiates to those around you. Allies within 10 feet of you can’t suffer from fear effects or roll a natural 1 on an attack or saving throw—instead, they treat it as a 2 because failure simply isn’t in the script.
At 18th level, the aura extends to 30 feet.
This Was Always the Plan
As an action, you regain HP equal to half your Paladin level + Charisma mod. If an ally sees this, they must make a Wisdom save or believe you had everything under control (pure RP effect).
Level 15: Too Grand to Fall
Once per long rest, when you are reduced to 0 HP, you instead drop to 1 HP and instantly regain half your total hit points. When this happens, you can declare: "I fall only when I choose to." You also gain immunity to being knocked prone because kneeling is for lesser beings.
Level 20: Avatar of Destiny
As an action, you embrace your role as the inevitable champion, gaining the following benefits for 1 minute:
You cannot roll lower than a 10 on an attack roll, ability check, or saving throw.
Allies within your Aura of Confidence gain a bonus to their rolls equal to your Charisma modifier.
You can choose to automatically succeed on one attack or saving throw per turn.
Once you use this ability, you can’t use it again until you finish a long rest.
