Base Class: Wizard
"And we gonna let it burn, burn, burn, burn..."
-Ellie Goulding
A Pyrotechnic is incapable of using any magic which does not create fire. When attempting to cast spells with other elemental effects the are instead just... Fire...
Level 3: Burning Intentions
When casting a spell which deals a damage type other than Fire, the damage type is changed to Fire.
If a spell has an effect which would rely on that damage type (i.e. Cone of Cold freezing creatures killed by the spell) the effect is instead changed to something related to Fire. Resulting effect is at the DM's discretion.
Level 3: Lasting Inferno
When you critically damage a target with a spell which does Fire damage, the target becomes Ignited. Whilst Ignited the target takes immediate fire damage equal to 2d4, and again at the end of each of their turns. The effect lasts until the target expends their movement and action to stop, drop, and roll.
The damage delt by Ignited increases with your proficiency bonus.
Level 6: Flame Dancer
You have improved control over all Fire. When you are in the Area of Effect of a spell you cast, you will not take damage.
In addition, when you would take Fire damage, half the damage received, rounded up (this is can stack with Fire Resistance).
Level 10: Master Exploder
When rolling to attack which does Fire damage, you may now roll a Critical on 18 or higher. Targets which Critically Fail on saving throws receive damage as if you Critically hit.
Level 14: Fuel to the Fire
Your mastery over flames grants you substantially more control over all fire. You gain the following benefits: -
- When you or an ally is target by a hostile fire spell, you may use your Reaction to redirect the spell to a target of your choosing.
- When a target becomes Ignited, regain a spell slot. Determine the level of spell slot regained by rolling 1d8. If you are not missing ay of the spell slots rolled, take the result minus one. Do this until you regain a spell slot. (No effect if you are not missing any spell slots).
- You are Immune to Fire damage from flames and spells. (Not other effects such as Lava etc.)
