Base Class: Monk
Warriors of the Bamboo Grove are masters of combat with Clubs and Quarterstaves. Their monasteries stand in the middle of giant bamboo forests, where they observe how the bamboo poles sway and bend with the wind without ever breaking. They learn how to fight and move with the bamboo's flexibility. As such, their wooden bō becomes an extension of their body.
Level 3: Bō Brawler
If you didn't know it already, you learn the Shillelagh cantrip.
You can expend one Focus Point to cast Shillelagh with no Action required. When you do so, instead of Strength or Dexterity, your Wisdom modifier is used for both the Attack and Damage rolls of your Club or Quarterstaff.
Additionally, as part of your Martial Arts and Flurry of Blows features, instead of making an Unarmed Strike as a Bonus Action, you can make an Attack with a Club or Quarterstaff.
Level 6: Shielding Staff
Whenever you are hit by an Attack, you can use your Reaction to parry the blow with a Club or Quarterstaff. When you do so, you gain a +5 bonus to your Armor Class against the triggering Attack that lasts until the start of your next turn.
Level 11: Prancing Pole
Whenever you make a High Jump or a Long Jump, you can use a Club or Quarterstaff to leap, both horizontally or vertically, up to a distance of 5 times your Monk level.
Level 17: Bend But Not Break
While wielding a Club or Quarterstaff, you have Immunity to the Grappled, Prone and Restrained conditions.
Additionally, your Speed cannot be reduced and your movement doesn't provoke an Opportunity Attack when you exit an enemy's range.
