Base Class: Fighter
Demon Sword
These warriors are created through unholy rituals, often by cults or forbidden experiments using demon blood. Most Demon Swords struggle with their dark origins, some remaining reclusive while others descend into madness.
Ragnarok
3rd-level Demon Sword feature
The demon within your blood begins to manifest. As a bonus action, you can shape it into one of the following forms:
-
Weapon Form: Your demon takes the shape of a melee weapon of your choice. This weapon has the same properties as a nonmagical version of that weapon, and you can summon or dismiss it as a bonus action. It cannot be disarmed or dropped against your will, and it disappears if you fall unconscious.
-
Demonic Form: Your demon emerges partially from your back or shoulders, forming a twisted humanoid shape that can speak verbally and telepathically. It knows the same languages as you. The demon is bound to you and cannot be physically removed without killing you.
Scream Residence
7th-level Demon Sword feature
Your demon weapon can manifest a howling mouth that can unleash a piercing shriek. As an action, you can activate this ability. Each creature of your choice in a 30-foot radius must make a Constitution saving throw (DC = 8 + your proficiency bonus + your Constitution modifier).
On a failed save, a creature takes 2d6 thunder damage and is deafened until the end of its next turn. On a success, the creature takes half damage and suffers no other effects.
The damage increases as you gain levels:
- 2d8 at 10th level
- 2d10 at 15th level
- 2d12 at 18th level
You can use this feature a number of times equal to your Constitution modifier per long rest.
Black Blood
10th-level Demon Sword feature
Your demonic influence intensifies, transforming your blood into an abyssal ichor. You gain the following benefits:
- Your AC equals 13 + your Constitution modifier when not wearing armor or using a shield.
- Your demon weapon is now magical for the purpose of overcoming resistances and immunity to nonmagical attacks.
- You gain immunity to being charmed.
Black Dragon
15th-level Demon Sword feature
Your blood becomes a weapon of destruction. You gain the following abilities:
- Blood Projectiles: As an attack action, you can hurl blades of your own blood at an enemy within 60 feet. This attack deals 8d4 piercing or 2d8 slashing damage (your choice) and is considered magical. You can use this ability a number of times equal to your Constitution modifier per long rest.
- Wings of the Abyss: As a bonus action, you can manifest demonic wings, giving you a flying speed equal to your walking speed for 1 minute. You can use this ability once per short or long rest.
These abilities cannot be dispelled by dispel magic or similar effects.
Vessel of Madness
18th-level Demon Sword feature
When you score a critical hit with your demon weapon or blood projectiles, the target must make a Constitution saving throw (DC = 8 + your proficiency bonus + your Constitution modifier). On a failure, they are afflicted with demonic insanity for 2d12 rounds or until cured.
While afflicted:
- Their Intelligence is reduced to 4 (if it was higher). or
- They lose the ability to speak. or
- They attack the nearest creature each turn. (players choice)
You have advantage on attack rolls against creatures affected by this feature. Mindless creatures are immune to this ability.
Brew
18th-level Demon Sword feature
As an action, you can destroy a magic melee weapon (or rare or less) to absorb its properties. Your demon can then replicate that weapon’s stats and magical abilities when in its weapon form.
- You can store a maximum of 3 weapons at a time.
- If a weapon is sentient, your demon kills its spirit but retains its knowledge.
- If you absorb a 4th weapon, you must replace one of the previously stored ones.
Your demon cannot take the form of a replaced weapon unless you find and absorb it again.
