Dragon Ronin

Ronin who follow the Way of the Dragon are renowned for their fluid and aggressive combat style. They master the art of shifting between stances, adapting to any foe and unleashing devastating strikes with their chosen weapons. These warriors prioritize speed and precision, using their mobility to outmaneuver opponents and deliver swift, decisive blows. They are often seen as lone wanderers, honing their skills in pursuit of martial perfection, and leaving a trail of fallen foes in their wake. Their ability to change stances mid combat allows them to be extremely adaptive and their ability to strengthen their dragon blood shines as they level up. 

Draconic Presence

As a bonus action, you can unleash a burst of lightning draconic power. Each creature of your choice within 10 feet of you must succeed on a Dexterity saving throw (DC equal to 8 + your proficiency bonus + your Charisma modifier) or be paralyzed until they succeed the saving throw. You can use this feature a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus, and regain all expended uses after a long rest.

Dragon Stances

 

At 3rd level you adapt the stances you learned as a child to your new ronin style. As an action you choose to take one of the following stances. 

• Dual Wakizashi Stance (Agile Assault):

  • Benefit: When you take the Dash or Disengage action, you can make a single weapon attack as a bonus action.

• Yumi Stance (Focused Precision):

  • Benefit: When a creature enters your line of sight within your weapon's range, you can use your reaction to make a single ranged weapon attack against it. You gain a +2 bonus to ranged attack rolls while in this stance.

• Dual Katana Stance (Unified Twin Strike):

  • Benefit: When a creature within 5 feet of you misses you with a melee attack, you can use your reaction to make a unified attack against that creature. This attack consists of two katanas swung in unison, requiring a single attack roll. On a hit, the attack deals 2d8 slashing damage.

• Odachi Stance (Cleaving Sweep):

  • Benefit: When you take the Attack action while in this stance, you can choose to make a single, powerful sweeping attack. If you do, you make a melee weapon attack against every creature within 5 feet of you. You make a separate attack roll for each target. On a hit, the target takes your weapon's damage and an additional amount of slashing damage equal to your proficiency bonus.

Dragon Hide

 As a reaction when you are hit by an attack, you can reduce the damage you take by 1d10 + your proficiency bonus as well as gaining advantage on constitution saving throws. You can use this feature a number of times equal to your Constitution modifier (minimum of once), and you regain all expended uses when you finish a long rest.

Dragons Flash

Starting at 10th level, As a bonus action, you can magically teleport up to 30 feet to an unoccupied space you can see. You can use this feature a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus, and you regain all expended uses when you finish a long rest

Dragon Strike

Starting at 15th level, you learn to add the strength of the dragon to your attack. You can add 1d20 damage to your attack a number of times equal to your strength mod plus proficiency bonus. 

Dragon God’s Will

• Starting at 18th level, while you are in your Scalebearer form, you become a conduit for Ryujin's power, gaining the following benefits:
  • Ryujin's Apotheosis: As a bonus action, you can unleash a devastating breath weapon. This breath weapon deals 12d10 lightning damage in a 60-foot cone (DC 18 Dexterity saving throw for half). You can use this breath weapon a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus, and you regain all expended uses when you finish a long rest.
  • Eternal Scales: You gain immunity to bludgeoning, piercing, and slashing damage from nonmagical weapons.
  • Ryujin's Resilience: While transformed, the temporary hit points you gain from Scalebearer increase from 1d12 to 2d12 per 5 levels (so 10d12 at level 20).
