Base Class: Rogue
Rogues who possess Dazai's Gift wield an eerie power—not to enhance, but to erase. Magic falters at their touch, supernatural abilities unravel in their presence, and even the mightiest beings find their gifts rendered meaningless. Whether a curse, an innate void, or sheer defiance against the arcane, their existence is a paradox—both feared and necessary.
No Longer Human
Your connection to the void allows you to snuff out magical energies in an instant.
- Feature: When you see a creature within 30 feet activate a magical ability or use a supernatural power, you can use your reaction to attempt to nullify that effect. The creature must make a Wisdom saving throw with a DC equal to 8 + your proficiency bonus + your Dexterity modifier. On a failure, the ability is effectively canceled or its effect is suppressed until the end of that creature’s next turn.
- Usage: You may use this feature a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus per long rest.
Nihilistic Gambit
Your power comes at a personal cost—a self-destructive gambit that sharpens your nullification.
- Feature: When you invoke No Longer Human, you may choose to sacrifice hit points (for example, rolling 1d6; you lose that many hit points immediately) to add an equal bonus to the DC of the saving throw. This represents channeling your inner despair to intensify the void’s effect.
Embrace the Void
Your brush with oblivion tempers your own vulnerabilities.
- Feature: After successfully nullifying a magical effect with No Longer Human, you gain advantage on saving throws against spells and other magical effects until the start of your next turn. This fleeting immunity reflects your momentary alignment with nothingness.
Erasure
You learn not only to snuff out the spark of magic as it flares, but also to erase its lingering glow.
- Feature: As an action, choose one creature within 30 feet that is currently benefitting from an active magical effect (such as a buff, ongoing spell, or supernatural ability). The target must succeed on a Constitution saving throw (DC = 8 + your proficiency bonus + your Dexterity modifier) or have that effect immediately ended.
- Usage: You can use this feature once per long rest.
Absolute Nullification
At the pinnacle of your nihilistic mastery, you momentarily erase the very essence of a creature’s supernatural might.
- Feature: As an action, target one creature within 30 feet that is either using a magical ability or currently under the influence of a magical effect. The target must make a saving throw (DC = 8 + your proficiency bonus + your Dexterity modifier). On a failure, for 1 minute its supernatural powers are completely suppressed—its spells and abilities are rendered inert as if caught in a continuous counterspell effect. At the end of each of its turns, the target can make a new saving throw; on a success, the effect ends immediately.
- Usage: Once you use Absolute Nullification, you must finish a long rest before you can use it again.
