On rare occasions, beings of immense arcane knowledge and power find themselves making pacts with aspiring heroes. These beings can be all variety of creatures, including sagely dragons, powerful sphinxs, or even arch-mages who's magical prowess has become unprecidented. These types of patrons value one thing above all else in their underlings, an unabashed sense of wonder for the world. These patrons admire most a curiosity and thirst to find and explore within mortals, more likely to choose a talentless but inquisitive man over a disinterested prodigy when deciding who to bestow power unto. They make these pacts for their own nebulous motivations, often as part of a grand plan far beyond the ephemeral scope of man.
