Paladins who swear the Oath of the Last Rite have faced death and returned, bound by a sacred vow to serve in the afterlife. These celestial warriors stand as guardians between the living and the dead, upholding their original oaths while embracing their new ethereal duties.

Keep your Original tenets and add one of the following Last Rites.

Guardian's Legacy: In death, your spirit becomes a shield for those you once protected, continuing to guard and guide them from beyond.

Sacred Beacon: Your final act transforms you into an eternal beacon of hope and faith, illuminating the path for those who continue the struggle in darkness.

Soul's Vow: Beyond the veil of death, your spirit upholds a new, transcendent oath to guide, protect, and inspire for as long as your cause endures.

Whisper of the Divine: Even in death, your voice carries the divine wisdom and guidance of your deity to those ho champion your shared cause.

Eternal Warden: As an unseen, vigilant protector, your spirit watches over sacred sites, ideals, or loved ones, manifesting subtly to aid in times of need.

Light Beyond Death: Your demise radiates a lasting divine light, embodying hope, purity, and an unceasing struggle against the forces of darkness, inspiring future generations.

Level 3: Soul Shepherd

Oath of Last Rites – 3rd Level Feature

You have taken a sacred vow to ease suffering and oppose the unnatural defiance of death.

  • When you hit an undead creature with a melee weapon attack, you deal extra radiant damage equal to your Charisma modifier (minimum of 1). You can deal this bonus damage once per turn.

  • Additionally, as an action, you can touch a willing creature and offer a quiet benediction. For 1 minute, the target has resistance to necrotic damage. Once you use this feature, you can’t use it again until you finish a long rest.



Level 3: Martyr's Shield

As an Action, you can expend one use of Channel Divinity and present your holy symbol to redirect damage dealt to allies within 30 feet to yourself until the start of your next turn.

Guardian's Intervention

Using a Reaction, you can expend one use of Channel Divinity to teleport adjacent to an ally within 30 ft. suffering a critical hit, you take the hit instead, turning the critical hit into a normal hit.

Level 7: Divine Shielding

When an ally within 10 ft. takes damage, use your reaction to reduce it by an amount equal to your charisma modifier + your Paladin Level.

You can use this ability a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus, recharging after a long rest.

Level 15: Miraculous Intervention

When you or another creature you can see within 30 feet drops to 0 hit points, you can teleport next to them, leaving them at 1 hit point, and deal 2d10+ Paladin Level damage in radiant energy to enemies within 10 feet.

You can use this feature a number of times equal to your Charisma modifier (minimum of once), and you regain all expended uses when you finish a Long Rest.

Level 20: Last Rite's Champion

As an Action, you can radiate celestial power for 1 minute. Allies within 30 feet of you gain resistance to all damage , and enemies have disadvantage on attacks against them. Once you use this feature, you can’t use it again until you finish a Long Rest. You can also restore your use of it by expending a level 5 spell slot (no action required).
