Ranger
Base Class: Ranger

Abyss Stalkers are hunters who have adapted to the darkness of the Abyss , mastering the art of moving unseen and striking without warning. They are often survivors—those who fell into the void but endured, or those who hunt the horrors lurking in the Sunken Isles, drifting ruins, and void-choked rifts.

Unlike conventional rangers, Abyss Stalkers do not rely on nature for guidance but instead harness shadow, void magic, and the unnatural silence of the Abyss. Some view them as cursed beings tainted by the darkness, while others see them as necessary protectors against the horrors that creep up from below.

Shadow Glide

You have learned to slip through shadows and evade detection.

  • As a bonus action, you can move 10 feet without provoking opportunity attacks.

  • If you end your turn in dim light or darkness, you gain temporary hit points equal to your Wisdom modifier (minimum of 1).

Additionally, you gain proficiency in Stealth if you don’t already have it.

Level 7: Hunter of the Lost

Your senses have adapted to track creatures that vanish into the void.

  • You gain blindsight out to 10 feet.

  • You have advantage on Survival checks to track creatures that have teleported, turned invisible, or crossed into another plane within the last 24 hours.

  • If you hit a creature that is invisible or hidden, the attack deals an extra 1d6 psychic damage, as your strikes disrupt their unnatural concealment.

Abyssal Ambush

You strike from the void itself, twisting space to your advantage.

  • When you hit a creature that has not taken its turn yet, it takes an additional 2d8 necrotic damage and must make a Strength saving throw (DC = 8 + your proficiency bonus + your Wisdom modifier).

    • On a failure, shadowy tendrils erupt from the ground and restrain the target until the end of your next turn.

  • You can use this ability a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus per long rest.

One With the Void

You fully embrace the Abyss, becoming a being of shadow and silence. As an action, you enter a void-state for 1 minute:

  • You gain resistance to all damage except force and psychic.

  • You can teleport up to 30 feet as a reaction when an enemy attacks you.

  • You can see through magical darkness and have advantage on Stealth checks.

You can use this feature once per long rest.
