Bard
Base Class: Bard

Bards of the College of Ritual Ink are masters of ancient and forgotten rites, their art form infused with the magic of sacred tattoos. These bards believe that the body is a canvas for the soul's deepest truths and that the most powerful magic is etched into the flesh through ritualistic markings. Members of this college mark their bodies with ritual tattoos, which can be activated like runes. Each tattoo serves as a conduit for powerful enchantments and a mark of their devotion to the arcane.

Level 3: Tattoo of Resilience

When the creature you inspire is hit, it can use its reaction to spend its bardic inspiration die and gain resistance to that damage type until the start of its next turn.

Level 3: Magic Tattoo

As is your tradition, you may imbue a creature within 10ft with a Magic Tattoo. This tattoo allows the target to gain one of the following benefits:

  • Tattoo of Resistance: The target gains a +2 to AC.
  • Tattoo of Clarity: The target gains advantage on saving throws against losing concentration on a spell.
  • Tattoo of Speed: The target’s movement speed increases by 10 feet, and they can Dash as a bonus action.

You may use this ability a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus. Imbuing costs a bonus action, and the tattoos last 1 hour. You regain all your expended uses of Magic Tattoo when you finish a Short or Long Rest.

Level 6: Ink of Binding

At 6th level, your magical tattoos can curse others and bind their movements. As an action, you can impose an Ink of Binding tattoo on a creature you can see within 60 feet of you. The target must succeed on a Wisdom saving throw against your spell save DC or be restrained. The target can repeat the saving throw at the end of each of its turns, ending the effect on a success. You can use this feature a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus, and you regain expended uses after a long rest.

Level 14: Ink Armor

As a bonus action, you can spend a bardic inspiration to gain resistance to a damage type for an hour.
