Druid
Base Class: Druid

Druids that belong to the Circle of the Sands strive to protect the seemingly barren deserts of the world. They understand that deserts have their own ecosystems and life cycles that need to be preserved from the encroachment of the civilized world.

Circle of the Sands Spells

Your link to the desert sands and your ability to shape them to your will grants you access to certain spells

At levels 3, 5, 7, and 9, you gain access to the spells listed for that level in the Circle of the Sands Spells table. Once you gain access to one of these spells, you always have it prepared, and it doesn’t count against the number of spells you can prepare each day. If you gain access to a spell that doesn’t appear on the druid spell list, the spell is nonetheless a druid spell for you.

Desert Form

Starting at level 3, you learn how to transform your body into living sand. As a bonus action, you can expend a use of your Wild Shape feature to take on a form of sand rather than transforming into a beast.

While in your Desert Form, you retain your regular character statistics, but your body becomes a collection of sand and dust that loosely resembles your natural form. This form lasts for 10 minutes. It ends early if you dismiss it, are incapacitated, die, or use this feature again. Whenever you assume your Desert Form, you gain the following characteristics:

  • You become resistant to fire damage.
  • You can enter and occupy the space of another creature.
  • If a creature of Medium size or smaller ends its turn inside the same space as you while you are in your Desert Form, it suffers 1d6 bludgeoning damage.
  • You do not need to breathe.
  • You can pass through small holes, narrow openings, and even mere cracks.

The bludgeoning damage dealt by this effect increases to 2d6 at level 6, 3d6 at level 10, and 4d6 at level 14.

Earthen Resilience

Upon reaching level 6, you become resistant to bludgeoning, piercing, and slashing damage whenever you assume your Desert Form.

Sandstorm

Beginning at level 10, you can create a magical sandstorm. As an action while in your Desert Form, you can conjure a 20-foot radius whirlwind of sand and dust that remains centered on you for one minute. Creatures other than you inside this sandstorm make all attacks and Dexterity saving throws, as well as all Wisdom (Perception) and Intelligence (Investigation) checks that rely on sight, with disadvantage

You must concentrate on this effect as if it were a spell. It ends early if you dismiss it, are incapacitated, die, or dismiss your Desert Form. You must finish a short or long rest before you can use this feature again.

Dust Behemoth

Starting at level 14, your Desert Form becomes more powerful. While in an area that has loose sand, you can increase your size category by one size when entering this form. This also increases the range of your Sandstorm ability by 5 feet.

Additionally, while in your Desert Form, you can use a bonus action to expend one spell slot to regain 1d8 hit points per level of the spell slot expended.
