Rogue
Base Class: Rogue

Infiltrators use a mixture of stealth and subterfuge to accomplish their goals, preferring to avoid violence where possible. They excel at blending in with crowds, hiding in plain sight with their uncanny ability to psychically change how others perceive them. Some infiltrators use their gifts to deceive, rather than evade, shifting the blame for their misdeeds onto others to further more complex agendas. An infiltrator might, for example, allow themselves to be seen committing a crime while looking like a nobleman they're trying to eliminate, rather than risk themselves directly attacking their target.

Level 3: In Plain Sight

You can use your innate psychic abilities to influence other people's perception of you.

As an action, you can take on a different form in which intelligent creatures perceive you. This effect is purely psychological and has no effect on your physical form, nor any of your stats. This ability has no effect on creatures with Truesight, or that have other ways to perceive the true form of another creature, such as the Moonbeam spell. The form lasts a number of hours equal to your proficiency modifier, or until you use an action to dismiss your altered form.

  • Become Ordinary. While in this form, you appear to others as an everyday citizen. You have advantage on Deception and Stealth checks to pretend to be a commoner or blend in with crowds, as well as on Persuasion checks when interacting with commoners.
  • Radiate Authority. While in this form, you appear to others as a figure of authority. You have advantage on Deception and Stealth checks to pretend to be a figure of authority or blend in with higher officials, as well as on Intimidation checks when interacting with regular people.
  • Impersonate. While in this form, you appear to others as a specific person. You have advantage on Deception checks to pretend to be the person, as well as on Persuasion checks when interacting with people the person knows.

You can use this action a number of times equal to your Charisma modifier (To a minimum of 1) and you regain all expended uses when you finish a long rest.

Level 3: Tools of Deceit

You gain Weaver's Tools and a Forgery Kit, and you have proficiency with them. Additionally, you can use the Weaver's Tools to create Costumes.

Level 9: Flawless Memory

You excel at learning about your targets and remembering even the smallest of details about them.

When impersonating someone or infiltrating an organization, you can perfectly recall surface level information and major details about the person or organization.

You also have advantage on Intelligence checks to recall any obscure information or minor details about your current target.

Level 13: Unnaturally Convincing

When you use your In Plain Sight ability, people you interact with have disadvantage on Insight checks to determine your true nature, and Perception checks to notice you when you blend in.

Additionally, you are able to keep your form active indefinitely.

Level 17: Master of Deceit

You have utterly mastered your psychic abilities.

You can use your In Plain Sight ability an unlimited number of times.
