Bard
Base Class: Bard

Bards of the College of Heated Debate wield their words like blades, turning arguments into weapons and rhetoric into magic. These bards thrive in discourse, not only undermining their enemies with verbal misdirection but bolstering their allies through sheer charisma and presence. Their voices are loud, their timing impeccable, and their arguments disturbingly effective.

Rhetorical Redirection

You learn to manipulate the minds of your foes with sharp words and heated logic. As an action, choose one creature within 30 feet that can hear and understand you. That creature must succeed on a Wisdom saving throw (DC = 8 + your Charisma modifier + your proficiency bonus) or become hostile to another creature of your choice that it can see. Until the end of its next turn, it must use its action to attack that target if possible. If it cannot, it must take the Dodge action instead.

You can use this feature a number of times equal to your Charisma modifier (minimum once). You regain all expended uses when you finish a long rest.

**At Higher Levels:**
- At 6th level, you may use Verbal Sparring as a bonus action once per long rest.
- At 10th level, the affected creature can be directed to target one of two enemies of your choice.
- At 14th level, a creature that fails its saving throw is also frightened of both potential targets until the start of its next turn.

Voice of Vitality

Your presence inspires healing energy when surrounded by abundant life. While in a naturally vibrant environment, such as a forest or jungle, allies within 30 feet of you regain 2 hit points at the start of their turn.

This feature only functions while you are conscious and does not require concentration. Your DM determines whether the area is considered rich with life (such as forests, jungles, or similar environments).

You must complete a short or long rest before you can use this feature again.

Vital Awareness

You gain an intuitive sense of life energy. You can perceive the outlines of living creatures within 60 feet of you, even through light cover such as foliage or mist. This sense grants awareness of their general position, but does not allow you to see through solid objects or barriers like stone, metal, or walls.

This ability functions regardless of light level or visibility, though it does not detect undead or constructs unless they have some remaining life essence.
