Base Class: Paladin
You saw through the illusion—the kingdoms, the gods, the stars themselves—all nothing but narrative threads spun by a hand unseen. In a moment of piercing clarity, you gazed beyond the veil and met the Game Master. Not a deity, but the true architect. The author. The voice that whispers fate into the bones of the world.
Now, you do not serve the gods. You do not pray.
You bargained with the writer.
Unscript Reality (3rd Level)
As an action, you speak a word that should not exist—a word not written into the world’s code. Choose one creature you can see. They must make a Charisma saving throw or become unscripted until the end of their next turn:
-
Their actions become unpredictable (roll a d6 to determine behavior).
-
They cannot benefit from divinely granted spells or features.
-
Their words come out distorted, like lines from a corrupted script.
Author’s Insight
You invoke your connection to the GM to ask a single meta-question. Once per short rest, you may cast Augury without components, or ask the DM a yes/no question about narrative structure, foreshadowing, or GM intent. The GM must answer honestly, though cryptically.
Aura of Awareness (7th Level)
You exist partially outside the fiction. Your awareness of the fourth wall grants you and allies within 10 feet:
-
Advantage on saving throws against illusions, enchantments, and charm effects.
-
Immunity to surprise rounds.
-
Once per long rest, you may call “Cut!” as a reaction, forcing a creature to reroll an attack against you or an ally.
Glitch the Script (15th Level)
You learn to warp the world’s “code.” Once per long rest, when you strike with Divine Smite, you may also:
-
Edit Position: Instantly teleport the target up to 30 feet in any direction.
-
Corrupt Form: Reduce their AC by 2 and cause them to glitch visually (attacks against them have advantage until the end of your next turn).
-
Delete Line: Target forgets the last round and cannot recall what happened or react to it narratively (RP-based feature).
Ascend Beyond the Veil (20th Level)
You are no longer a character—you are a co-author. For 1 minute:
-
You may narrate one action per round before it happens. Describe it to the GM—if plausible, it happens automatically. (e.g., “I walk through the fire untouched—it knows not to burn me.”)
-
You can see all invisible and hidden things, including narrative flags (traps, foreshadowing, lies).
-
You gain resistance to all damage and immunity to charm, fear, and illusion.
-
The world bends to your vision. Your presence demands flavor text.
Once you use this feature, you can’t use it again until a week passes—or until the GM writes you back into the script.
