Base Class: Monk
Monks of the Way of the Primal Trickster emulate the ancient spirit of mischievous freedom, combining breathtaking agility, supernatural transformations, and playful cunning. They are warriors who fight not just with fists but with endless creativity — daring to defy kings, gods, and death itself.
Trickster’s Step
Nimble Acrobat: You gain proficiency in Acrobatics and Performance. If you already have proficiency, you add double your proficiency bonus.
Boundless Leap: Your jump distance is tripled, and you can stand from prone without expending movement.
Playful Dodge: When you use Step of the Wind, attacks of opportunity against you are made with disadvantage until the end of your turn.
Staff of the Wandering Star
As an action, you can summon the Wandering Star Staff, a weapon that functions as a quarterstaff you are proficient with.
You can shrink or enlarge the staff as a bonus action:
Short Form: Normal quarterstaff (versatile 1d6/1d8).
Extended Form: Reach 10 feet, but deals 1d8 bludgeoning damage.
It counts as magical for overcoming resistance and immunity.
If you throw it (range 30/90), it returns to your hand at the end of your turn.
If the staff is destroyed or you dismiss it, you can resummon it after finishing a short or long rest.
Many Forms of the Monkey King
Cloud Dance: You can walk across liquids and unstable surfaces (like clouds or smoke) as if they were solid ground.
Mischievous Form: As an action, you can cast Disguise Self without expending Ki. You can do this a number of times equal to your Wisdom modifier (minimum once) per long rest.
In addition, when you use Patient Defense, you can teleport up to 10 feet before or after taking the Dodge action, without provoking attacks.
Radiant Clone Technique
As a bonus action, you can expend 2 Ki points to create 2 radiant duplicates of yourself for 1 minute (Mirror Image spell effect).
While the clones exist:
Enemies have disadvantage on saving throws against being charmed or frightened by you.
You can swap places with a clone as a reaction when targeted by an attack.
You regain the ability to use this feature after finishing a short or long rest.
Sovereign of Sun and Storm
Nimbus Form (1/day):
As a bonus action, for 1 minute:
You gain a flying speed of 60 feet.
Your unarmed strikes and staff attacks deal an extra 1d10 radiant damage.
You are surrounded by an aura of sunlight. Enemies within 10 feet take 10 radiant damage at the start of their turn.
Immortal Trickster:
When you are reduced to 0 hit points, you can spend 3 Ki points to instead drop to 1 hit point and teleport up to 30 feet.
