Sorcerer
Base Class: Sorcerer

Among the sorcerers, those who have been blessed by a god or goddess are exceedingly rare. Throughout history, only three or four individuals have ever received such divine favor. Legend tells that once every thousand years, only one person is chosen—only one whose soul, strength, and spirit meet the mysterious criteria of the divine. It is said that only then will a god or goddess cast their gaze upon them with grace.

Yet, there exists one goddess—Athena, the deity of reason, wisdom, and war—who has never bestowed her gaze upon anyone. She neither shows interest, nor grants blessings. She remains distant, unmoved. The myths whisper that when Athena does finally look upon someone, that person loses everything—every possession, every identity—as if reborn into a new existence.

But if that chosen soul possesses enough strength, perseverance, and knowledge... they shall rise. They will wield the power to conquer Midgard with ease. And that person… is you.

After enduring the harrowing trials of a fearsome dungeon, your magical power was drained entirely—your body collapsed, barely clinging to life. As your eyes turned to the heavens, a radiant light descended from the sky. The world was consumed in white.

There, walking through the light, was Athena.

She approached, serene and divine, and offered you two relics: a spear and a book. A choice lay before you—Athena, the goddess of war, or Athena, the goddess of wisdom.

You chose the book.

Without a word, Athena took the spear and pierced your body. With your blood, she inscribed words into the pages:
“Stand proud. You’re strong.”

Then, you awoke.

You felt it—the arcane energy coursing through your veins was more powerful than ever before. But just as you tried to cast a spell… you realized—you couldn’t remember how. The wound from Athena’s spear had vanished without a trace.

Is this… what it means to be seen by a goddess?

Arcane Sensitivity

  • Increased Sorcery Pool: Your connection to the arcane deepens, allowing you to harness more power. You gain 1.5 times your maximum Sorcery Points, rounded down.

  • Arcane Awareness: Whenever a creature within 60 feet of you casts a spell, you immediately sense that a spell has been cast. However, you are not initially aware of its nature or effects.

  • Enhanced Insight: As a bonus action, you may expend 1 Sorcery Point to discern the name of the spell that was cast, gaining insight into its arcane origins.

Level 3: lvl.3 Evil Eyes

When a creature within your line of sight casts a spell, you can expend Sorcery Points to attempt to imprint the arcane essence of that spell into your memory. You may choose to spend 1, 3, or 5 Sorcery Points as follows:

  • 1 Sorcery Point
The creature must make a Wisdom saving throw against your Spell Save DC.
On a failed save, you memorise the spell and may cast it once. After casting, it is forgotten.

  • 3 Sorcery Points
The creature must make a Wisdom saving throw against your Spell Save DC.

    • On a failed save, you learn the spell and may cast it any number of times, as if it were one of your known spells.

    • On a successful save, you may still cast the spell once, then it is forgotten.

  • 5 Sorcery Points
You automatically learn the spell with no saving throw required.
You may cast it as if it were a known spell, without limit (following your usual spellcasting restrictions).

    Limitations:

    • You can only imprint spells of a level you are capable of casting.

    • The memorised version of the spell is always treated as 1 level lower than the original spell cast

lvl.6 Athena’s Exchange

You have learned to twist the essence of your life force into raw arcane power—and to do the reverse, restoring vitality through your magic.

As a bonus action, you may choose one of the following:

  • Convert Sorcery to Life:
Spend 1 Sorcery Point to regain 15 hit points.

  • Convert Life to Sorcery:
Take 15 points of damage (this damage cannot be reduced by resistances or immunity) to regain 1 Sorcery Point.

Level 14: lvl.14 Seal of Athena

When your Innate Sorcery is active, you can channel Athena’s divine insight to unravel the arcane threads of your enemies.

As a reaction or bonus action (your choice), you may expend 2 Sorcery Points to target one creature within 30 meters (100 feet) that you can see.

  • You immediately become aware of all spells that creature is currently capable of casting.

  • Then, choose 1 spell from that list.
That creature is unable to cast the chosen spell until the start of your next turn.

Level 18: lvl.18 Athena’s Sanctuary

You invoke the divine power of Athena, creating a radiant 120-foot radius, 120-foot-high sanctuary around yourself. The sanctuary lasts for 3 turns, and any creature that attempts to enter must succeed on a Strength saving throw (DC 25). On a failure, the creature is unable to enter. On a success, the creature is pushed back outside the sanctuary by an invisible divine force.

Upon activation, you may choose one of two effects:

1. Athena’s Library (1 use per Long Rest)

The sanctuary becomes a realm of divine knowledge, where infinite books and scrolls float in the air, their pages flickering with arcane power.

  • Creatures within the sanctuary are affected by a powerful forgetfulness. They temporarily lose access to all spells, skills, and abilities, retaining only basic actions (such as movement, attacks, etc.).

  • Each creature can take 1 Action and 1 Bonus Action per turn, but any other actions they take are impaired.

  • Creatures may attempt to interact with the floating books by using a Bonus Action to read.

    • To learn a random spell temporarily, a creature must succeed on a Perception check (DC determined by the DM).

  • Reading the books is a Bonus Action and can be done repeatedly until the sanctuary ends.

    • Spells learned in this way can be cast infinitely, but are forgotten when the sanctuary concludes.

2. Divine Perfection (2 uses per Short Rest)

The sanctuary becomes a battlefield of divine perfection. The air shimmers with golden energy, and your presence is an unyielding force.

  • Sure Hit: The creator of the sanctuary automatically rolls a Natural 20 for all attack rolls during the sanctuary’s duration.

  • Unyielding Magic: All saving throws made by creatures within the sanctuary automatically fail, ensuring that spells cast by you are guaranteed to hit and are fully effective.

  • You gain Advantage on all rolls for the duration of the sanctuary.

  • Divine Memory: Whenever a creature casts a spell within the sanctuary, you remember that spell and can cast it once at no cost until the sanctuary ends.

  • You may choose up to 3 creatures within the sanctuary to be affected by the following:

    • These creatures suffer Disadvantage on all rolls for the duration of the sanctuary.

Flavor & Restrictions:

  • Limitations: This feature cannot be used again until after a Long Rest (for Athena’s Library) or after a Short Rest (for Athena’s Blessing).

  • Spells learned via Athena’s Library are only available for the sanctuary’s duration, and once the sanctuary ends, they are forgotten.
