Base Class: Bard
“To master the Woven Chaos is not to impose order on it... but to dance with it, eyes closed, trusting the next step will be glorious—or catastrophic.”
Bards of the College of Woven Chaos do not simply study the Weave—they court it. These performers embrace the raw threads of magic with reckless elegance, weaving chance and melody into explosive resonance. Through rhythm and intuition, they draw on the unpredictable beauty of the arcane to empower, distort, or bewilder.
These bards are composers of entropy, each spell a risky improvisation, each note a flicker of fate. They are adored by some as visionary performers, feared by others as walking arcane time bombs. But one thing is always true: when a Bard of Woven Chaos takes the stage, something extraordinary will happen.

Level 3: Bonus Proficiencies
When you join the College of Woven Chaos at 3rd level, you gain proficiency with three skills of your choice.
Level 3: Inspired by the Weave
When you grant Bardic Inspiration to a creature, an orb of glimmering woven starlight appears and begins to orbit them within 5 feet. This orb is intangible, invulnerable, and lasts until the Bardic Inspiration die is expended or lost. It appears as a constantly reweaving mass of shimmering thread, shaped like a Möbius strip made of light and music. It hums softly, resonating with your Bardic energy.
When the creature uses their Bardic Inspiration die, they also roll a d20. The effect depends on how the Bardic Inspiration was used: an ability check, attack roll, or saving throw. Consult the appropriate Weave Surge Table below.
Ability Check Weave Surge Table (1d20)
| d20 | Effect |
|---|---|
| 1 | Magical dissonance disrupts your flow. The ability check automatically fails. |
| 2 | You are momentarily overwhelmed by spectral static. Disadvantage on your next ability check. |
| 3 | Your fingers turn ethereal and pass through objects for 1 minute. Certain checks become impossible. |
| 4 | You hiccup bubbles that drift upward and pop with faint notes. No mechanical effect. |
| 5 | Your skin briefly ripples into living sheet music. No effect but very distracting. |
| 6–15 | No additional effect. |
| 16 | You’re touched by foresight. Add +1 to your next ability check in the next 10 minutes. |
| 17 | The Bardic Inspiration die counts as its maximum value. |
| 18 | You are surrounded by guiding script. Double the Bardic Inspiration die’s result. |
| 19 | Your actions are eerily flawless. Gain advantage on your next ability check within 1 hour. |
| 20 | You are momentarily one with the Woven Chaos. The ability check automatically succeeds. |
⚔️ Attack Roll Weave Surge Table (1d20)
| d20 | Effect |
|---|---|
| 1 | The attack catastrophically fails. It misses automatically. |
| 2 | You stumble with explosive flair. Fall prone after the attack. |
| 3 | A sudden backlash causes friendly fire—half damage to self or ally. |
| 4 | Your weapon hums a tune and glows pink. Harmless but flamboyant. |
| 5 | Glitter erupts from your strike, sticking to enemies and allies. No mechanical effect. |
| 6–15 | No additional effect. |
| 16 | The Bardic Inspiration die is added to the damage roll. |
| 17 | The attack deals 1d6 additional elemental damage (roll 1d6: 1-Fire, 2-Cold, 3-Lightning, 4-Thunder, 5-Poison, 6-Radiant). |
| 18 | A streak of light targets your enemy. The next attack roll against them has advantage. |
| 19 | Your strike pierces the target’s resistance (they have none for this damage type). |
| 20 | The attack becomes a critical hit (or deals max damage if it already crits). |
🛡️ Saving Throw Weave Surge Table (1d20)
| d20 | Effect |
|---|---|
| 1 | You falter, misjudging the danger. Disadvantage on the saving throw. |
| 2 | You become attuned to fear. Disadvantage on the same save type for the next 24 hours. |
| 3 | The effort knocks you over. You fall prone after the save. |
| 4 | Your eyes glow neon pink and swirl hypnotically. No effect beyond spectacle. |
| 5 | Ethereal trumpets play a victory (or failure) jingle, depending on your result. Flavor only. |
| 6–15 | No additional effect. |
| 16 | Your mind briefly glimpses the next threat. Advantage on your next saving throw. |
| 17 | Arcane shielding manifests. Add 1d6 to the next saving throw of the same type. |
| 18 | You shimmer with resistance. Gain resistance to the damage type you just resisted (1 minute). |
| 19 | A swirl of magical force lifts you off the ground. You can't be knocked prone for 1 minute. |
| 20 | You automatically succeed on the saving throw. The Weave shields you. |
Level 3: Performance of the Weave
Whenever you make a skill check that you are proficient in, roll a d20. On a 1, roll on the Wild Magic Surge table (Sorcerer).
Level 6: Strands of Influence
Starting at 6th level, your mastery of Woven Chaos allows you to sense the shape of magic as it's cast—and to harmonize with it in real time. When a creature within 60 feet makes a spell attack roll or forces a saving throw, you can use your reaction and expend a Bardic Inspiration die to manipulate the arcane outcome.
-
Add or subtract the Bardic Inspiration die from the spell attack roll or the saving throw, your choice.
-
You must decide before the result of the roll is known.
The target cannot benefit from another Bardic Inspiration die on the same roll. When you use the feature roll a d20. On a 1, roll on the Sorcerer Wild Magic Table.
Level 14: Maestro of the Weave
You no longer merely flirt with chaos—you compose symphonies from it.
-
Controlled Chaos. When you or a creature roll on a Weave Surge Table or the Wild Magic Surge table, roll twice and choose which result applies.
-
Echo of Inspiration. Once per long rest, when a creature uses your Bardic Inspiration to succeed, you may use your reaction to cast a 2nd-level or lower spell without expending a spell slot.
