Base Class: Fighter
The Leader of Men, often called a Commander, is a warrior that leads his fellows from the front, and is a force for them to rally around.
Rally The Troops
At 3rd level, when you use your Second Wind, you may apply the benefit to a number of additional allies equal to 1 plus your charisma modifier that are within 60 feet of you.
Inspiring Shout
At 3rd level, you learn to shout orders across the battlefield. You can use the Bolster and Charge shouts. At 7th level, you gain the Shake it Off shout. At 10th level, you gain Own the Battlefield, and at 14th level you gain Stand Tall. You may use this ability once, plus one additional use per point of charisma modifier per short or long rest. The shouts features are as follows:
Bolster
One ally within 30 feet gains 1d10 + your fighter level in temporary hit points. At 18th level, this applies to a number of allies equal to your charisma modifier (minimum of 1).
Charge
One ally within 30 feet may use his reaction to move half of his movement. If this movement ends with the ally within 5 feet of a creature, the ally may make a melee weapon attack against the creature. At 18th level, you may affect a number of allies equal to your charisma modifier (minimum 1).
Own the Battlefield
Each ally within 30 feet of the Tribal Champion Gains advantage on the next attack it takes before the end of its next turn. In addition, the next attack made against the ally has disadvantage.
Shake it Off
One ally within 30 feet may make a saving throw to end an affect it is under (if the affect allows a save). It gains a bonus equal to your charisma modifier on the save.
Stand Tall
Each ally within 30 feet gains resistance to bludgeoning, piercing, and slashing damage until the end of its next turn.
Champion's Influence
At 7th level, you gain additional skill in inspiring your fellows. You gain proficiency in either the Persuasion or the Intimidation skill, and you add twice your proficiency bonus to either skill.
Choose Intimidate
Intimidation
Choose Persuasion
Persuasion
Relentless Assault
Starting at 10th level, when you use your Action Surge feature, you can choose one creature within 60 feet of you that is allied with you. That creature is under a haste effect until the end of its next turn, provided that it can see or hear you.
Starting at 18th level, you can choose two allies within 60 feet of you, rather than one.
Third Wind
Starting at 15th level, you now may use second wind twice per short or long rest..
Commanding Warlord
Starting at level 18, you command the battlefield like no other. You may now use Inspiring shout a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus plus your charisma modifier. In addition, you may also do the following:
- You may use two (2) Inspiring Shouts as a single bonus action.
- You may use your Second Wind (and Rally the Troops) and an Inspiring Shout as a bonus action.
Thanks! I haven't had a PC use it past level 5 yet, so I am a little worried about higher level stuff. But the low level stuff seems to work just fine.
Thanks!
Starting a new campaign in a few months and got a player interested in playing this so we'll let you know how it goes.
Its always a bonus action. I'll get it updated when I am back in my pc.
Are all the shouts intended to be done as a bonus action? The description of them doesn’t say but the level 18 feature mentions 2 can be done as a bonus action. So not sure if the level 18 ability lets you do 2 and also changes them to bonus actions.
Otherwise, quite interested and might try it out.
Looks great, really want to use this for an upcoming pirate campaign. Is inspiring shout (prior to level 18) an action or BA?
