Paladin
Base Class: Paladin

Paladins who take the Oath of Liberation follow a path of freedom and resolve. They are bound on a path that conquers their enemies and protect their allies. They are sworn to protect the innocent and uncover malicious plots. Oftentimes paladins working toward these goals align themselves with others and use their powers to buff their allies to better aid them.

TENETS OF LIBERATION

The tenets of the Oath of Liberation vary between each paladin, but hold common values of rescuing those that deserve it. Paladins that uphold these tenets maintain their trajectory in this oath by focusing on the abolition of opposing forces of menace and oppression.

Witness. Be vigilant to oppressive forces and uncover their malign plans.

Savior. Bring salvation to those you deem worthy of freedom.

Beacon. Stand mighty as a beacon to those that you liberate.

Purge. Menaces must be snuffed out if they are unable to find a righteous path.

Channel Divinity

3rd-level Oath of Liberation feature

You gain the following two Channel Divinity options.

United Bond. As a Bonus Action you can form a magical bond with number of creatures equal to your Charisma modifier (minimum of 1) that you can see within 60 feet of you. The bond lasts for 1 minute, and you can end the bond with one of more bonded creatures at any time (no action required). When you use this ability, and again as a Bonus Action on each of your turns, you can choose one of the following effects:

  • Blessed Alliance. The next time each bonded creature makes an D20 Test the creature can roll a d4 and add the number rolled to the D20 Test.
  • Fellowship's Ward. Each bonded creature gains Temporary Hit Points equal to your Paladin Level. A creature loses these Temporary Hit Points if their bond with you ends.
  • Fast Escape. Each bonded creature becomes free from nonmagical restraints, such as manacles or a creature that has them Grappled. They can additionally use their Reaction to move up to half their Speed without provoking Opportunity Attacks.

Unravel Guile. As a Bonus Action, you attempt to thwart the deceptive or exploitative capabilities of a creature you can see within 60 feet with your sheer imposing presence. The creature must make a Wisdom saving throw against your Spell Save DC. On a failed save, the creature is affected for 10 minutes. For the duration the creature has the following drawbacks:

  • It has disadvantage on Charisma checks.
  • It cannot make attack rolls with advantage.
  • Creatures cannot be frightened of the creature, or charmed by it.

When the creature takes damage from you or your allies, it can repeat the saving throw at the start of it's next turn, ending the effect on a success.

Oath Spells

3rd-level Oath of Liberation feature

You gain oath spells at the paladin levels listed in the Oath of Liberation Spells table. See the Sacred Oath class feature for how oath spells work.

Oath of Liberation Spells

Aura of Recovery

7th-level Oath of Liberation feature

You can turn the fate of those on the edge of life and death. When any creature of your choice makes a death saving throw within 10 feet of you, they regain 1 hit point if they roll a 15 or higher on the dice, or regain a number of hit points equal to half your Paladin level (rounded up) if they roll a 20 on the dice.

Once a creature has been affected by your Aura of Recovery, they cannot be affected by it again for 24 hours.

At 18th level, the range of this aura increases to 30 feet.

Reaching Rescue

15th-level Oath of Liberation feature

When you cast a spell that targets a single creature and causes them to regain hit points, the spell's range increases by 30 feet. In addition, when you cast such a spell with a range of touch, or use your Lay on Hands feature, you can instead choose a creature within 30 feet of you to gain the benefits.

Partisan of Liberty

20th-level Oath of Liberation feature

You become an avatar of freedom, which gives you the following benefits while you are not incapacitated:

  • You cannot be grappled, or restrained.
  • You have advantage on Wisdom saving throws.
  • You can take the Disengage action as a bonus action.
  • You can move across difficult terrain without expending extra movement.

These benefits do not work if you are
