Base Class: Paladin
Love is not weakness. It is the mightiest cause to which a soul may be bound. Paladins who swear the Oath of Romance, often known as Paramours or Heartknights, take upon themselves a sacred duty: to be the sword and shield of love itself. For them, devotion is not a fleeting sentiment but an unshakable purpose, a force as vital and enduring as the breath of life. Their first and most solemn vow is to a singular beloved — a promise to defend, uplift, and cherish them beyond all perils, to ensure their happiness even should the world fall to ruin around them.
Yet their hearts are too vast to be tethered to one life alone. These paladins see love — in all its fragile, radiant forms — as a thing worth guarding against the coldness of the world. They stand as defenders of every secret vow whispered beneath the stars, every trembling confession of the heart, every bond that dares to bloom amid hardship. Whether by the blessings of a deity of love or the fierce devotion of their own spirit, they become stewards of romance itself, seeing its presence as the most sacred and necessary beauty the world possesses.
In bearing this oath, a Paladin of Romance becomes an emblem of tenderness and courage. Their armor gleams not only with the light of duty, but with the softness of hope. They fight not for conquest, not for dominion, but for the quiet, golden moments that make life worth living — a brush of hands, a shared glance, a promise made beneath the sighing boughs of a garden. Their strength lies not in cold brutality, but in the fierce, defiant gentleness that holds fast even in the face of sorrow and loss.
Wherever they walk, the air seems sweeter; wherever they speak, hearts seem lighter. They are not naive, nor blind to the cruelties of the world. Rather, they meet darkness with an unbreakable spirit, a belief that no blade cuts deeper than loneliness and no victory sweeter than love preserved. To love, and to protect love — these are the twin stars that guide them, unerring, through every trial and every battlefield.
Level 3: Tenets Of Romance
The Oath of Romance is not a light vow. It is a surrender of the soul to another, a holy binding of purpose to passion. Its tenets are not broad ideals, but sacred promises centered wholly upon the beloved.
Upon taking on the Oath of Romance, you may optionally declare another player or NPC as your "Beloved" for the remainder of the game. This Beloved may change over the course of a campaign, at the DM's sole discretion. A Romance Paladin's first and foremost duty is to protect their Beloved, and every other obligation is secondary to this sacred promise. As such, the features of this subclass have special interactions with Beloved.
Tenets:
All That I Am Is Yours: My heart, my strength, my breath, and my blood belong to you. I exist to shelter you from sorrow, to lift you to joy, and to bear every burden you should never have to carry.
None Shall Stand Between Us: No force of man, monster, or god shall sever my bond to you. Any who would harm you, tempt you, or tear you from my side shall find no mercy — only ruin.
Your Happiness Is My Salvation: I live not for my own glory, but for the light in your eyes. Your dreams are my commandments; your smile is my paradise; your tears are my deepest sin.

Level 3: Channel Divinity
Channel Divinity: Many Hearts As One
When you strike, you draw strength from the bonds you cherish. The love and loyalty surrounding you ignite your blade, transforming your devotion into a punishing force.
When you hit a creature with a melee weapon attack and expend a spell slot to deal Divine Smite damage, you can use your bonus action to invoke this Channel Divinity. For each ally within 30 feet of you (up to a number of allies equal to your proficiency bonus), your attack deals an additional 1d8 Radiant damage. If your beloved is within 30ft of you, they do not count against the number of allies and instead grant an additional 2d8 Radiant damage.
Channel Divinity: Unerring Devotion
Your soul is tethered to those you love, and no distance can sever that bond.
As an action, you can focus your senses through your Channel Divinity to unerringly know the direction and distance to your beloved, no matter where they are, as long as they are on the same plane of existence. If your beloved is not on the same plane, you instead know which plane they are on. You can also communicate with them telepathically.
Additionally, for the next hour, you instinctively know the direction to any of your willing allies within 10 miles, feeling a tug in your heart toward them. You additionally have an advantage on all Perception checks that would help find your allies. If the allies are within 30ft, you can communicate with them telepathically.
No magic short of a wish can block this connection.
