College of Storytellers

Weaving with Words

You have learned through countless hours of integrating magic into your stories how to cast most spells without material components. Any spells which do not have a monetary cost may be cast without material components . All spells cast this way instead have a verbal component.  You may use the words and actions of your story as your verbal and somatic components.

Teller of Tales

When you gain this subclass you gain the ability to use your stories to benefit your companions in combat.

As an action you may begin a story which lasts 1 minute. Until the story ends you may choose from one of three benefits to your companions.

1. A tale of hope: If an ally who is listening to your story would fall below 1 hp you may expend one use of your bardic inspiration bring them to back to 1 hp.

2. A tale of Valor: +1 to ac and saving throws

3. A tale of ferocity: +2 to all damage rolls (increasing to 3 at level 6, and 5 at level 14)

At 6th level you gain 1 additional story:

Tale of fortitude: immunity to charm and frightened (this replaces the sixth level counter charm ability)

This ability has a range of 60 ft centered on you, and effects a number of creatures less than or equal to your charisma modifier (minimum 1). As an action on proceeding turns you may change the type of story you are telling, this does not increase the duration.

Telling a tale in combat also takes extreme focus and thus counts as concentration. If you cast a concentration spell while using this ability the tale will end and beginning this ability ends concentration on a spell. If you take damage while using this ability you must make pass a concentration check, on a fail the ability ends.

Collector of Legends

Begining at 6th level you gain an instinctive knowledge of legendary people, places or things as  years of story telling begin to integrate into your magic.

Once per long rest you may cast the spell legend lore without the use ofncompents and without using  a spells lot.

Tales Long Remembered

Once you reach level 14 your stories become so great that they continue to inspire after the story is over. Once per long rest you may spend ten minutes weaving a story for a number of creatures who speak your language equal to your Charisma modifier+1 (minimum 1). For the next 5 hours any time you would give inspiration to a creature you may  give a lesser inspiration to any other creatures who listened to your tale. These creatures do not gain your full inspiration, but instead gain 1d4 (increasing to 1 d6 at level 18).This only takes one use of your bardic inspiration dice.
