Base Class: Monk
Monks of the Way of the Housekeeper have a unique, unorthodox fighting style striving to emulate the work of a housekeeper. They have learned to harness their ki to perform special techniques to aid in both common chores and combat.
Housekeeping Tools
When you choose this path at 3rd level, your experience with housework has made you proficient in various household items. You gain proficiency with one type of artisan’s tools of your choice. You also gain proficiency with improvised weapons, and improvised weapons are monk weapons for you.
Weekly Chores
Also at 3rd level, you learn Chores that are fueled by your Ki. You learn three Chores of your choice at 3rd level, and learn one additional Chore of your choice at 6th, 11th, and 17th level. Each time you learn new Chores, or with a week’s worth of training, you can replace one Chore you know with a different one. If a Chore lists a level prerequisite, its level means your level in this class.
Whenever you use a Chore, you roll your Martial Arts die accordingly, and any saving throw from them is equal to your Ki save DC. You can only use one Chore per attack.
Some Chores have an Expedite ability, which you can produce the effects of by expending 1 Ki point when you use that Chore.
Boil the Pot
Prerequisite: 6th level
Grabbing a pot of hot water or similar implement, you pour hot liquid on a misbehaving creature. When you hit with an improvised weapon, you can spend 1 Ki point to deal extra fire damage equal to a roll of your Martial Arts die, and the target has disadvantage on attack rolls and ability checks for 1 minute. The creature can make a Constitution saving throw at the end of each of their turns, ending the effect on a success.
Expedite: You splash the liquid in a wider area. Each creature within a 15 foot radius centered on the target must succeed on a Dexterity saving throw or also take the extra fire damage, suffering no additional effects.
Deep Cleaning
Prerequisite: 11th level
As an Action, you may spend 1 Ki point to touch a friendly creature and cure them of one of the following effects: poisoned, diseased, charmed, frightened, blinded, deafened, or one level of exhaustion.
Expedite: In addition, you may roll a Martial Arts die and restore hit points to the creature equal to twice the total plus your Wisdom modifier.
Defensive Dusting
You distract your foes with a feather duster or nearby object. As a reaction when you are attacked, you may expend 1 Ki point to gain a bonus to your AC equal to a roll of your Martial Arts die until the start of your next turn.
Expedite: Your distraction gives you an opportunity to readjust. Move up to your walking speed, without provoking opportunity attacks.
Disciplinary Action
When you take the Attack action on your turn, you may spend 1 Ki point to deal additional damage equal to your Martial Arts die with improvised weapons for that turn. The total damage you deal is also dealt to the improvised weapon, potentially causing it to break.
Expedite: You instead deal additional damage equal to two rolls of your Martial Arts die plus your Wisdom modifier, and any improvised weapon that deals this damage breaks upon completing the attack.
Housekeeping Lore
When you make an Intelligence or Wisdom check related to the Artisan’s Tools you choose from your Housekeeper’s Tools ability, you may expend 1 Ki point to roll a Martial Arts die and add it to the total. You may do so before or after you roll the check but before the DM says whether the roll fails or succeeds.
No Projectiles in the House!
Prerequisite: 11th level
Whenever you use your Deflect Missiles, you can reduce the damage by an additional amount equal to a roll of your Martial Arts die. If you are targeted by an attack that was using an improvised weapon, you may use your Deflect Missiles effortlessly, without spending the Ki point to do so, and without expending the Ki point to use this Chore. You must still spend a Ki point to Expedite this Chore if you choose to do so.
Expedite: You may now use Deflect Missiles with any ranged attack, including magical, that targets you or a creature within 5 feet of you.
Pin the Blame
Prerequisite: 6th level
Whenever you hit with a ranged attack with a non-magical improvised weapon, you can spend a Ki point to throw it with extra force, causing it to explode in a 10 foot radius around the target. The target and any creature inside the radius must succeed on a Dexterity saving throw or take piercing damage equal to a roll of your Martial Arts die. The improvised weapon is then shattered and destroyed. This Chore cannot be used with other Chores that break the improvised weapon after using them.
Expedite: The shattering object is so loud that it gives your foes tinnitus. Any creature within the radius must succeed on a Constitution saving throw or take additional thunder damage equal to a roll of your Martial Arts die, and be deafened until the end of your next turn. In addition, the initial piercing damage is increased to a roll of two Martial Arts dice.
Spontaneous Master
If you make an attack roll using a Simple or Martial weapon as an improvised weapon on your turn, you can expend a Ki point to use its Mastery property for that attack.
Expedite. You may replace the weapon’s property with the Nick property for that attack, provided you are wielding the weapon in one hand.
Spring Cleaning
Prerequisite: 17th level
Whenever you take the Attack action on your turn, you may spend 2 Ki points to replace one of your attacks with a Spring Cleaning. Each creature in a 100 foot line that is 5 feet wide originating from you must succeed on a Strength saving throw or be scrubbed away. On a failure, a creature takes 6d10 bludgeoning damage, and is pushed 20 feet away from the line. On a success, the creature takes half damage and isn’t pushed.
Expedite. You deal additional acid damage equal to a roll of your Martial Arts die, and any creature that fails the save is also blinded until the end of their next turn, as the soap stings their eyes.
Sweeping Up
When you make a melee attack with an improvised weapon against a creature that is no more than one size larger than you, you may spend 1 Ki point to attempt to sweep them off their feet. The target must make a Dexterity saving throw or fall prone.
Expedite: You sweep the mess away. If the creature fails to saving throw, they are additionally pushed 15 feet away from you.
Throwing the Towel
When you take the Attack action on your turn, you may treat the long range of thrown improvised weapons as their normal range, with no long range.
Of Magic and Maids
At 6th level, you gain the ability to infuse magic into your daily housekeeping.
You learn prestidigitation and mending, and you can cast unseen servant as a ritual. You can also cast create food and water without expending a spell slot. Once you cast create food and water in this way, you can’t do so again for a week. You may also cast it using your spell slots, if you have any.
Taskmaster
At 11th level, you may Expedite a Chore without expending the Ki cost. You may do so a number of times equal to half your proficiency bonus, rounded down, regaining all expended uses when you finish a long rest.
in addition, when an opponent you damaged this round is reduced to 0 hit points within 10 feet of an ally, you can regain Ki points equal to half your proficiency bonus, rounded down.
Executive Housekeeper
At 17th level, you have mastered the art of cleaning and tidying quickly and efficiently. You gain the following benefits:
- Once per turn, when you expend Ki points to use a Weekly Chore you know, you may reduce the Ki points you would spend on it by 1.
- The number of times you may Expedite a Chore without expending the Ki cost from Taskmaster increases to an amount equal to your proficiency bonus.
- Once per short rest, you may use a Weekly Chore you haven’t learned as if you had learned it.
