Wizard
Base Class: Wizard

Wizards of the School of Threadweaving — known as Arcanists — study the fundamental “threads” that form magic: time, emotion, nature, possibility. They treat spells not as fixed formulas, but as mutable weaves that can be adjusted, echoed, or repurposed. A Threadweaver views the Weave itself as a loom — and themselves as the weaver.

By unraveling the seams of arcane patterns, Arcanists can delay effects, copy spells midair, and even alter the structure of magic itself.

Level 3: Threadweaver’s Insight

  • When you finish a long rest, choose one spell you know. For the next 24 hours, you may change its damage type (to fire, cold, lightning, thunder, necrotic, radiant, or psychic) when you cast it.
  • Additionally, when you cast a spell of 1st level or higher, you can subtly adjust its delivery. As a bonus action, reroll one damage die or healing die from the spell.

Level 3: Weave Echo

Once per long rest, when you cast a spell of 1st to 3rd level, you can choose to leave an “echo” in the Weave. You may recast that spell on a later turn without using a spell slot or components. You must do so before the end of your next turn.

Level 6: Threadbend

  • When you cast a spell of 1st level or higher, you can change its school for the purposes of interacting with abilities, items, or resistances (e.g., make Shield an Illusion, or Fireball a Transmutation).
  • Additionally, you may prepare 2 additional spells each day, but only from the Wizard spell list.

Level 10: Spell Lattice

  • When you cast a spell, you may delay its effect until the start of your next turn. Visual and sensory effects appear when cast, but the spell’s damage, healing, or control effect occurs later.
  • Alternatively, you may split a single-target spell to target two creatures, dividing damage or duration (half and half). You may use this ability once per long rest.

Level 14: Master of Threads

  • Once per long rest, when you cast a spell, you may choose to rewrite one of its basic properties:
    • Change its range (to a maximum of 120 feet)
    • Change its area shape (line, cone, sphere, cube)
    • Change its saving throw type (if applicable)
    • Make it immune to Counterspell or Dispel Magic

This alteration must be declared when the spell is cast and lasts for that casting only.
