Monk
Base Class: Monk

Monks who follow the Way of the Blazing Fist have taken the teachings of Vindicus, the Deity of Wrath, and forged them into their own path. While they channel the same fiery energy, these warriors are not driven by a need to protect the innocent, but by a relentless pursuit of personal strength and combat mastery. They believe that true power comes from within, not from external allegiances or causes. Their training focuses on harnessing inner fire to enhance their combat abilities, using flame as both weapon and testament to their growing power.

Level 3: Flames of Combat

You learn to channel your inner fire through your strikes. When you hit a creature with your Flurry of Blows, you can cause flames to engulf your fists. The target takes additional fire damage equal to your Wisdom modifier with each unarmed strike.

Additionally, when you are struck by an enemy in combat, you can use your reaction to mark that creature as the target of your focus until the end of your next turn. The next time you hit the marked creature with an attack on your next turn, you have advantage on the attack roll and it takes extra fire damage equal to your Martial Arts die + your Wisdom modifier (this does not apply to Flurry of Blows), and the mark ends at the end of your turn.

You can use this reaction feature a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus, and you regain all expended uses when you finish a long rest.

Level 3: Forged in Battle

Your dedication to personal strength and combat mastery grants you:

  • You gain proficiency in your choice of two of the following skills: Athletics, Intimidation, Survival, or Acrobatics.
  • You can speak, read, and write Celestial, recognizing its usefulness without necessarily embracing its divine origins.
  • You gain proficiency with navigator's tools, reflecting your past experience as a ship's navigator.

Combat Resilience

Your relentless training has forged your body into a weapon that grows stronger with each battle. When you take the Dodge or Disengage action, shimmering flames surround you, creating a shield of pure combat energy.

Until the start of your next turn, you gain temporary hit points equal to your monk level. Additionally, when you successfully dodge an attack (when an attack roll against you misses while you're taking the Dodge action), you can use your reaction to make a single unarmed strike against that creature if it's within your reach.

Blazing Fist Stance

You can enter a state of focused combat intensity as a bonus action. For 1 minute, you gain the following benefits:

  • Your unarmed strikes deal fire damage instead of bludgeoning damage.
  • When you hit a creature with an unarmed strike, you can force it to make a Dexterity saving throw against your focus save DC. On a failed save, the creature is wreathed in flames until the end of your next turn. While wreathed in flames, the creature takes fire damage equal to your Wisdom modifier at the start of its turn, and you have advantage on attack rolls against it.
  • You have resistance to fire damage.

Once you use this feature, you can't use it again until you finish a short or long rest, unless you spend 3 focus points to use it again.

Level 17: Inferno Wrath

You can unleash the full potential of your inner fire, creating an aura of overwhelming combat prowess. As an action, you can spend 5 ki points to create an aura of flames that extends in a 15-foot radius around you for 1 minute.

While this aura is active:

  • You gain advantage on saving throws against being frightened or charmed.
  • Your unarmed strikes deal additional fire damage equal to your Wisdom modifier.
  • At the start of each of your turns, enemies within the aura must succeed on a Dexterity saving throw against your ki save DC or take fire damage equal to your Martial Arts die + your Wisdom modifier.
  • As a bonus action on your turn, you can teleport up to 30 feet to an unoccupied space you can see within the aura, appearing in a burst of flames.

Additionally, when you reduce an enemy to 0 hit points while this feature is active, you regain hit points equal to your monk level and your next attack roll has advantage.

Once you use this feature, you can't use it again until you finish a long rest.
