Base Class: Paladin
The Great Wall of the Desert is often what the Rhinotians were referred to.
The Desert City of Testelj is a center of trade for a wide area of the land, but few discuss what truly defends it.
Large insectoids clad in steel, with amber crystal shoulders that command and regulate order within the trading hub. Their home is underneath it after all. Among these amber-clad soldiers are units that word of mouth has called Shapers. Some say that a very part of their soul is encrusted with amber crystal as they wield it like versatile putty.
Many have tried to break them and take over the city, yet their defense has remained strong. Near impenetrable, some visiting generals would say.
It is rare but when they see a defensive resolve in others, they may be more inclined to teach their ways to outsiders.
Level 3: Bolstering Amber Strike
As part of casting Divine Smite, you can expend a charge of Channel Divinity to spread out amber shards from your attack. These amber shards equal a total of 2d8 plus your Paladin level amount of Temporary Hit Points that you can distribute to allies within 30 feet of yourself as the amber shards float around them like a shield.
Level 3: Soul of Amber Spells
The magic granted to you by your affinity with the amber projects by your very willpower.

Level 3: Construct Amber Pylon
As a Bonus Action, you can expend one use of Channel Divinity to create an Amber Pylon within 15ft of you. A construct of amber crystal that occupies a 5 ft space that thrums with bolstering energy.
These constructs have hitpoints equal to 10 + Charisma modifier + Paladin level.
At this level, party members and allies within 10 ft of a pylon have advantage on Constitution and Strength saving throws. If an ally were to be attacked within range of a Pylon, the paladin can use their reaction to make the Pylon surge with energy. Reducing damage taken from the attack by 1d10 + Charisma Modifier + Paladin level, the Pylon receives this damage in the attacked creature's stead.
You can only have one pylon constructed at a time at this level. You gain the ability to make another at level 7 and a third at level 15.
Level 7: Crystallized Enhancement.
You learn ways of molding the amber to your weaponry and armor.
Similar to an Artificer, you can enhance a piece of armor or weaponry with amber crystal. Increasing the bonus by +1 and turning non-magical weapons into magical.
You can enhance a number of weapons and armor in this way up to your charisma modifier.
This skill can only be used for attack or defense enhancement. You cannot access any other enhancement from the Artificer enhancement table.
Further, if the paladin or an ally with an amber-enhanced item ends their turn within range of an Amber Pylon, they gain 1d10 Temporary Hitpoints.
Level 15: Counterattack Aura
Your Amber Pylons now emit an aura that boosts boldness in attack.
While in range of a Pylon, if an ally is attacked and the attack misses, or the Paladin uses their reaction to reduce damage. That ally can use a reaction to make one weapon attack against the attacker. Doing a counterattack in this way, the ally's weapon is temporarily wreathed in amber to deal an extra 1d8 radiant damage for this attack.
Level 20: Grand Amber Mastery
You've gained mastery of the amber that would earn high praise from the Rhinotians. Becoming a stalwart beacon of heavy defense.
Your AC increases by your charisma modifier as the amber within reacts to outside influence.
Your features also become enhanced.
Bolstering Amber Strike's temporary hit points becomes 3d8 + Paladin level, and the range of distribution becomes 50 feet from yourself.
The Amber Pylon range of effect becomes 20 feet, has 20 base hit points, and the reaction to reduce damage becomes a base of 2d10.
The amount of crystallized enhancements you can make is doubled.
The bonus damage granted by Counterattack Aura becomes 2d8 radiant damage.
