Base Class: Monk
Though many monks rightfully claim to have a mastery of body and soul, the mind can be left wanting, in this gap we find Transference.
Held by the doctrine of knowing yourself fully and embracing it fully, Monks of Transference are able to wield their very consciousness as a weapon, granting surrounding weaponry autonomy within the monk's own split psyche.
Monks who go on to master this weapon can even safely leave their body to take over a fallen foe's, not only unlocking the power of that creature but their knowledge of how to use it properly.
Level 3: Split Consciousness
As an action on your turn, you can spend 1 Ki to touch an unwielded weapon within 5ft of you, this includes any on your person anywhere or in your inventory.
That weapon floats within 15ft of you and is treated as a magical monk weapon. Once per turn, when you make an unarmed strike, the weapon can attack a different target, using your wisdom modifier to attack and dealing one martial arts die of damage regardless of weapon types. This attack can be made an additional time when you attack with flurry of blows. If the weapon was already magical it keeps any magical properties it already had.
It lasts 1 minute and requires you to maintain concentration if you take damage, as if you were concentrating a spell
Level 6: Soul Transference
As a reaction to a creature dying within 15ft of you or your Split Consciousness, you can send your soul into that creature's body for a minute, gaining their physical statistics and features, while regaining your monk features up to level 3. Any weapons they are holding float away and you can choose one to be treated as an additional Split Consciousness Weapon.
Whilst you possess this body, your main body will be immune to all damage apart from psychic and hidden on the ethereal plane.
The creature 's Max HP is equal to your monk level x 5 while you possess it. You may use this feature three times per long rest. If a creature is Large or bigger it will require two charges.
Level 11: Split Psyche
Once per long rest, you can use a charge of your Soul Transference, to apply your Split Consciousness feature to a number of applicable weapons equal to your Wisdom Modifier.
Additionally if a Split Consciousness weapon hits a stunned target it will become a critical hit.
Level 17: Transference Surge
You may now pick up any Split Consciousness weapon as part of making an attack, dealing 4 martial arts die of psychic damage with it, but taking half of the damage you deal with that attack. You may do this during a Soul Transfer as well. On a critical hit, you deal an 8 additional martial arts die of psychic damage and take reduced damage equal to your monk level from the self damage part of the attack.
