Druid
Base Class: Druid

Swiftly Spread with Weed-like Vigor

Druids of the Circle of Kudzu see 'weeds' not as plants to be exterminated, but as adaptable survivors. Their abilities reflect these traits, letting them rapidly move across terrain and hinder even the mightiest of foes.

Level 3: Circle of Kudzu Spells

When you reach a Druid level specified in the Circle of Kudzu Spells table, you thereafter always have the listed spells prepared.

In addition, when you cast Thorn Whip, you can modify the spell in the following ways:

  • You can cast it using only Somatic components.
  • You can target objects and interact with them in the same ways as the Mage Hand spell.
  • Instead of pulling a creature, you can move it up to 10 feet in any horizontal direction within range.
  • You automatically hit willing targets, and can cause the spell to deal no damage on a hit.

Level 3: Lash of a Thousand Thorns

As a Bonus Action, you can expend a use of your Wild Shape to assume a weed-like form for 10 minutes. It ends early if you dismiss it (no action required), assume this form again, or have the Incapacitated condition.

While you are in this form, you can pass through any plants that you have created or manipulated without being slowed or damaged by them.

Once per turn, when you hit a target with Thorn Whip while you are in this form, you can cause one of the following effects of your choice:

Ingrain. You pull yourself up to 30 feet straight towards the target. This movement does not provoke Opportunity Attacks.

Snag. If the target is a creature, it must succeed on a Dexterity saving throw against your spell save DC or have the Prone condition.

Uproot. If the target is a creature, it must succeed on a Strength saving throw against your spell save DC or be pulled up to 30 feet straight towards you.

Level 6: One with the Weeds

Your magic takes root extremely quickly. When you take a Bonus Action to activate your Lash of a Thousand Thorns feature, you can cast Thorn Whip as part of that Bonus Action.

Moreover, when you use your action to cast Thorn Whip, you can attack twice, instead of once, and can move between each attack you make using this spell.

Level 10: Endless Entanglement

While your Lash of a Thousand Thorns feature is active, you can surround yourself with rampant vegetation in a 15-foot Emanation. These plants can be manipulated by spells such as Plant Growth or Speak with Plants.

When you cast a level 1+ Druid spell, you can take a Reaction to drive these plants into a frenzy. A creature of your choice in the Emanation must make a Strength or Dexterity saving throw (you choose which) against your spell save DC.

On a failed save, the target takes Bludgeoning damage and has the Grappled condition (escape DC equal to your spell save DC). On a successful save, the target takes half as much damage only. To determine this damage, roll a number of d6s equal to the spell's level.

The plants can grapple only one creature at a time, and you can cause the plants to release a Grappled creature (no action required). When you move, the plants drag or carry the Grappled creature with you.

Level 14: Stride of Boundless Ivy

You propagate as freely as any weed. You always have the Transport via Plants spell prepared, and you can cast it without expending a spell slot. Once you do so, you cannot do so again until you finish aLong Rest.

Whenever you cast Transport via Plants, you can create up to two plants (the target and destination plants) for the spell to use, which vanish when the spell ends.

If you create a target plant, you can prevent creatures of your choice from stepping into it. If you create a destination plant, you determine its location location as if you targeted it with the Teleport spell.
