Base Class: Monk
Created for the campaign Sleep By Candlelight, a martial art born from dying flame temples and carried on through memory and motion. Emberclad Style blends swift, dance-like footwork with short, explosive strikes that mirror the nature of fire—brief, intense, and always reaching upward. It emphasizes emotional clarity, spiritual resilience, and the controlled release of inner heat. Practitioners are taught not just to fight, but to ignite, becoming a beacon for others even as they burn.
Level 3: Emberclad Technique
When you hit a target with your Flurry of Blows, you may impose one of the following effects on that target.
Scorching Palm. The target must succeed on a Strength saving throw or take an additional 1d4 fire damage.
Blazing Push. The target must succeed on a Dexterity saving throw or be pushed up to 15 feet away from you.
Core Overload. The target must succeed on a Dexterity saving throw or have the Prone condition.
Level 6: Flame Step
After expending all of your movement, you can teleport up to 10 feet away.
Level 11: Kindling Spirit
You gain the ability to shield yourself. As a Bonus Action, you can roll your Martial Arts die. You gain temporary hit points equal to the number rolled plus your Wisdom modifier (minimum of 1 Hit Point regained).
You can use this feature a number of times equal to your Wisdom modifier (minimum of once), and you regain all expended uses when you finish a Long Rest.
Level 17: Ignition Burst
You gain the ability to ignite a creature's spirit. When you hit a creature with an Unarmed Strike, you can expend 4 Focus Points to start the ignition, which last for a number of days equal to your Monk level. The ignition is harmless unless you take an action to spark it. Alternatively, when you take the Attack action on your turn, you can forgo one of the attacks to spark the ignition. To end them, you and the target must be on the same plane of existence. When you end them, the target must make a Constitution saving throw, taking 10d12 Fire damage on a failed save or half as much damage on a successful one.
You can have only one creature under the effect of this feature at a time. You can extinguish the ignition harmlessly without expending an action.
