Base Class: Monk
"In the dead of the night, vampire spawn descend upon the lone elf. Without opening his eyes he maneuvers and finishes each one one by one. By the time their rush ends he's standing alone again."
"The tiefling faces an owlbear they've been tracking for a few days now. As the owlbear charges and swipes, the tiefling weaves through the strikes, systematically rendering the owlbear unconscious by the time its done with its flurry."
Monks who follow this path seek to flow through life like water through a river, and focus their minds till it becomes second nature to them as they take the force of their opponents in stride.
Still Pond
Starting at 3rd level, your training till now has brought you to the start of your journey to inner peace. The first lesson is to still your mind. At the start of your turn you may spend a focus point to become still. Choose any of the following; action, bonus action, movement. You forgo your choices for this turn and gain an additional reaction for each you may use until the start of your next turn to take that action. You also gain temporary hit points equal to your Monk level until the start of your next turn.
Additionally, you gain proficiency in either the Nature or Survival skill.
Racing River
Starting at 6th level, you have reached the next step on your journey and must start to push your limits. When you choose to forgo your movement on your turn, you may also choose to reduce it to 0. If you do, whenever you take a Reaction, you may move up to half of your walking speed, rounded down to the nearest multiple of five, before or after the effects of the reaction.
Additionally, if a reaction requires you to roll dice, you may spend a focus point to add a roll of your Matrial Arts die to the result.
Raging Sea
Starting at 11th level, you learn to ride the seas of your mind as you start to find the eye of the storm. When you would roll a d20 as a part of your reaction and roll a 20, you regain that reaction. You may also move your full movement instead of half as a part of your Racing River feature.
Calm Waters
Finally at 17th level, you have reached the pinnacle of your journey. You become immune to the charmed and frightened conditions, as well as advantage on Wisdom skill checks and saving throws. Also, whenever you take a reaction you gain a +1 to d20 rolls until the end of your next turn.
