Base Class: Rogue
"Under the cover of night." A popular phrase among those who do deeds best left in the dark. However the night sky can be so much more than just a veil of secrecy, and those who stop might just feel the complexities of the push and pull of the skies, the ever-chasing moon as it follows the elusive sun. Those who pay attention might start to find themselves guided by the moon and stars as it reflects the ebb and flow of their own soul.
Twilight Studies
Starting at 3rd level, the moon's guidance has revealed just how long its been around, and it passes some of this knowledge to you. You gain proficiency in the Arcana and History skills if you don't already have it. Your proficiency bonus is doubled for any ability check that uses either of those proficiencies.
Veil of Night
Starting at 3rd level, the night sky blesses you with its secrecy. When you would trigger Sneak Attack on a creature, you may, as a reaction, have the extra damage from Sneak Attack deal Radiant damage instead of its original damage type and you become invisible until the end of your next turn or until you make another attack. You may do this a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus, regaining all uses on a short or long rest.
Chasing the Sun
Starting at 9th level, you know the feeling of the moon as it chases the sun around the world. As a part of rolling initiative, or as a bonus action, you can mark one creature you can see within 120ft of you with a Sun Mark. The mark lasts until the creature reaches 0 hit points or until you mark another creature. While a creature is marked this way you gain the following benefits;
- You have advantage on Wisdom skill checks against that creature.
- You have blindsight against that creature.
- Your Sneak Attack damage increases by one die for every attack you've made against that creature since the most recent time they have been marked.
Celestial Revelations
Starting at 13th level, your time in the stars has lead their perceptive foresight to start to slip into your mind. When rolling initiative, or when initiating a conversation, you gain a bonus equal to your Wisdom modifier to your first ability check or saving throw against each other creature in initiative or the conversation. If this would trigger against a creature with a Sun Mark, you also have advantage.
Twilight Marauder
Finally at 17th level, you have truly become one with the moon and stars above. You always know when the moon is out, and you do not lose a use of Veil of Night when you use it when the moon is out. Additionally, when you use Veil of Night, it doesn't count against the amount of times you can trigger Sneak Attack in a turn.
