Base Class: Wizard
A truly versatile Wizard that is trained in spellcraft and martial arts, using bows to shoot their spells.
Like a Bladesinger Wizard, but with bows.
Level 2: Martial Training
2nd-level feature
You gain proficiency with longbows and shortbows.
You also gain proficiency in the Acrobatics skill if you don't already have it.
You can use a longbow or shortbow as a spellcasting focus for your wizard spells.
Level 2: Arcane Arrows
2nd-level feature
Whenever you cast a Spell or Cantrip you can choose to imbue an arrow with its magic creating an Arcane Arrow. You can shoot this Arcane Arrow as part of the same action, using a ranged weapon. After the Arcane Arrow hits or misses its target, it loses its magic.
Limitations:
- You don't add the weapon's damage to the target hit by an Arcane Arrow.
- The spell must have an Attack Type of Ranged.
- The Arcane Arrow uses the range of the spell, not the weapon.
Mechanically speaking: You expend a spell slot as usual. Instead of using Intelligence for your ranged spell attack you use Dexterity.
Martial Focus
6th-level feature
You can enter a state of Martial Focus. You must expend a 3rd-level spell slot to do so. The Martial Focus lasts for 1 minute.
While you are in this state of Martial Focus you can ignore the following limitation of your Arcane Arrows:
- You don't add the weapon's damage to the target hit by an Arcane Arrow
Improved Martial Focus
10th-level feature
Instead of expending a 3rd-level Spell Slot, you can choose to expend a 4th-level Spell Slot.
If you do so you can ignore the following limitations of your Arcane Arrows:
- You don't add the weapon's damage to the target hit by an Arcane Arrow.
- The spell must have an Attack Type of Ranged.
Unlimited Martial Focus
14th-level feature
Instead of expending a 3rd-level or 4th-level Spell Slot, you can expend a 5th-level spell slot.
If you do so you can ignore all limitations of your Arcane Arrows.
