Fighter
Base Class: Fighter

The Ravager is not for those who are faint of heart. Those who walk the path of the Ravager throw themselves into danger constantly, as they thrive in the thick of battle. As they land blows they surge with energy and vigor, their strikes empowering them. The most experienced of Ravagers can sacrifice their defense to maximize their offensive capabilities.

While the Ravager is more offense-oriented, they do not have terrible defense, preferring to wear medium armor, as it does not encumber them as much as heavier armors and provides adequate protection. Typically a Ravager either duel wields weapons or wields a two-handed weapon when they grow stronger.

Lifestealer

Starting at 3rd level, when you hit with the attack action on your turn, roll a d4. On a 4, recover half the damage dealt as temp hp. You have a max temp hp pool equal to your level times 2. This temp hp pool is not affected by other sources of temp hp, such as False Life. So you may have 6 temp hp from the Lifestealer ability, but you can still gain temporary hp past this pool with spells or other abilities.

As an example: Torik is a ravager, has a greataxe and he has +3 strength. He also gets his weapon buffed by a Cleric, who uses Bless weapon. He rolls a d12 and a d4 and gets a total of 13 after rolling. Cut in half that's 6.5, so Torik get 6 temp hp.

Or Begro is also a Ravager and hits someone with his flame tongue longsword and deals 1d8 +3 slashing and 2d6 fire. He rolls a total of 14, so he gets 7 temporary hit points. If Begro is only level 3, he only gets up to 6 temporary hit points.

This ability may be used with the Fighter's extra attack feature. This feature cannot be used with attacks made with a bonus action. This feature may also not be used with spell melee attacks, however if there is a spell buff on the weapon, the HP recovered is still half the total damage dealt.

Note: When you hit, on each hit, you roll a d4 for the effect to trigger. If you hit 3 times, you roll 3 d4s, and only recover temp hp on the attacks that you roll a 4 on.

Conditioning

Starting at 7th level, you gain the Medium Armor Master Feat as a class feature, as long as you are also equipped with a shield.

Shield Adaptability

Starting at 10th level, you gain the following feature:

As long as you are wearing medium armor, you may have your shield fitted to your arm or shoulder by paying half the shields value in gold to free up your hand. If you do this, you only gain a +1 bonus to AC instead of +2. But doing this allows you to wield two weapons or a two handed weapon while still benefiting slightly from a shield.

If the shield has a bonus to AC, then the bonus is halved, rounded down. So a +2 shield would grant only a +1 bonus and a +1 shield wouldn't grant any extra bonus to AC since it would round down to zero. Any other magical effects on the shield are not affected by the shield being fitted.

Ravage Your Foes

Starting at 15th level, you can enter a Ravager stance. This effect lasts one minute, and you can use this feature a number of times equal to your dexterity modifier. While in the Ravager stance, you forgo defense for the sake of all out offense. You cannot concentrate or cast spells while in Ravager stance.

While in the Ravager Stance:

When you take an attack action, you may make an attack with your off hand weapon as part of the attack with your main hand weapon, as long as your off hand weapon has the finesse or light property. The off hand weapon cannot benefit from extra damage on critical hits.

Note: You cannot use your off hand attack on a different target as part of the same attack action, since you are attacking the target with both weapons. As an example, a fighter uses his attack action to make an attack, and uses his offhand in the attack. Then he attacks again using extra attack, but kills the enemy with his first attack roll. He cannot use the second off hand attack roll on a different enemy, since both his weapons are used on the same target as part of that attack.

Alternatively, if you are wielding a two handed weapon, when you hit in Ravager stance, add an extra dice of each of the weapons normal damage die. This includes any normal magic damage die as well. A flame tongue Greatsword deals 3d6 of slashing and 3d6 of fire instead of 2d6 of both types. However this feature does not apply to additional damage tacked on by magic such as Bless weapon or an item buff. In addition, when you score a critical hit, only double the weapons normal dice. So if you scored a critical while in Ravager stance with the Flame tongue Greatsword, you deal 5d6 slashing and 5d6 fire, not 6d6 of both types.

In addition, you cannot use the Lifestealer feature while in Ravager stance. You also grant enemies advantage on all attacks that they make on you while you are in Ravager stance.

Life Drainer

Starting at 18th level, when you score a critical hit, you automatically trigger your Lifestealer feature and instead of recovering half the damage dealt, you recover all of it.

In addition, your Lifestealer feature now triggers on a 3 or 4 on the dice roll.
