College Of Dance

Some bards study the art of oration, others bring their magic to life through music, and some study the art of the blade. The focus of this college however, is through the heavily romanticized art of dance.

Watching an expert bard dancing is a spectacle to behold, their movements graceful, awakening the emotions of those who are blessed enough to be able to observe them.

Any old commoner can dance a jig of course. But through the esoteric movements of the bards who study at the College Of Dance, reality shimmers as they move through, and true magic is awoken.

Combination Step

Bards are known to be sharp tongued and fiendishly clever. As a member of the Dance College, you are agile and graceful to boot.

If you cause damage to an enemy as the result of a spell, you can use your bonus action to add an extra step to your dance, and therefore the damage. Add an extra d6 to the damage of the spell you cast. This increases to 2d6 at level 7, 3d6 at level 13, and 4d6 at level 20.

You can use this ability 1 plus your charisma modifier times per long rest.

Dance Style

Even though all bards who are members of the College Of Dance agree that dance is the purest and most eloquent of all art forms, they often butt heads over which style of dance holds the most beauty.

Choose a dance style from the options below. Each holds a different benefit. You gain one dance style at level 3, and another at level 10.

Ballet

You have advantage on dexterity saving throws.

Haka

You gain expertise in the intimidation skill.

Quickstep

You gain +2 AC.

Rumba

Your bardic inspiration die goes up an extra size.

Waltz

You can add 1d8 in force damage to the damage of your spells.

Wushu

You gain proficiency with all martial weapons.

Improved Dance Style

As you practice your art, and use the reactions of the adoring public to fine title your style, you find that you now have a mastery of that particular step.

This class feature offers a different benefit depending on the style of dance you started with when you graduated the College Of Dance. You can improve one dance style at level 6, and another at level 15.

Bolstered Haka

You are immune to the effects of fear.

Controlled Wushu

When using the attack option, you can attack twice instead of once.

Deadly Waltz

The d8 you can add to spell damage from the Waltz becomes a d10.

Energised Rumba

When an inspiration die is rolled, the player can choose to roll it again and choose either result.

Graceful Ballet

You gain advantage on dexterity ability checks.

Quick Riposte

If a melee attack against you misses, you can use your reaction to make a melee attack against the creature that tries to hit you.

Universal Language

Though races share different ideals, ways of life, and even languages, all can be united through the magical power of bardic dance.

You gain the ability to speak all languages, the creature/s you are conversing with must be able to see you though, as your artistic presence is what grants them an understanding of you.
