Base Class: Monk
There is no spoon. You have discovered your reality is a simulation or a dream. With this fundamental realization about the nature of the universe, you have begun to take control of the simulation or dream, even bending reality to your will. As you gain levels in this subclass, your resolution grows stronger, you leave behind fear and doubt, and you push reality itself to the limits.
Nothing is Real
Starting at 3rd level, you question the significance of and real consequences of threats in the world around you. You gain the following benefits:
- As a Bonus Action on your turn, you may spend 1 Ki point to end the Frightened condition on yourself. You can easily convince yourself that the threat isn't real.
- As a Reaction to seeing an ally Frightened, on their turn, you can try to help them overcome their fear by convincing them that the threat isn't real. Make a Persuation (Charisma) check contested by their Insight (Wisdom) check. If your Persuation exceeds their Insight, you momentarily quell their fears. If your Persuation fails to beat their Insight, you may use 1 Ki point to succeed instead.
- You have advantage on Insight (Wisdom) and Investigation (Intelligence) checks on sensing or seeing through an illusion. It's easier to believe something is an illusion when you assume everything is an illusion.
Bullet Time
At 6th level when you use your Patient Defense, at least to your perspective, everything slows down to a crawl, but to outside observers, you are moving faster than any projectile that could be shot at you.
Until the end of your next turn, your speed is doubled, you gain a +2 bonus to AC, and you have advantage on Dexterity saving throws.
Gravity Manipulation
At 11th level when you use your Step of the Wind, you can momentarily manipulate gravity's hold on you. Until the end of your next turn, you have a flying speed equal to your walking speed.
You can use this feature a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus, and you regain all expended uses when you finish a long rest.
Press Pause
Upon reaching 17th level, you’ve gained the ability to manipulate not only yourself, or individual target enemies, but the entire world around you.
Once per Long Rest, you can use an action and expend 3 Ki points to cast the spell Time Stop.
Training Program
At 17th Level, you start to catch glimpses of the "real" world through your dreams or dream-like trances. Through interacting with persons or entities in another world, to prepare you for returning to this world, may gain ONE of the following:
- An additional language
- An additional skill proficiency (must be a skill in which you do not have an existing proficiency)
- Your choice of two maneuvers from among those available to the Battle Master archetype in the fighter class, as per the Martial Adept feat
At the end of each Long Rest, you may choose a different option of the above choices, or chosing among the options within the options; for example, substituting a language for a skill proficiency, or swaping 2 maneuvers for 2 different maneuvers.
