Base Class: Cleric
A recreation of the homebrew subclass posted by MinimalisticHD, but updated for 2024 Edition. Some minor changes have been made, most notably the inclusion of the class feature Pardon Death, which is a unique feature I created for this subclass.
Level 3: Reaper
You learn one necromancy cantrip of your choice from any spell list.
When you cast a necromancy cantrip that normally targets only one creature, the spell can instead target two creatures within range and within 5 feet of each other.
You gain proficiency with Martial Weapons.
Level 3: Death Domain Spells
Your connection to this divine domain ensures you always have certain spells ready. When you reach a Cleric level specified in the Life Domain Spells table, you thereafter always have the listed spells prepared.
| Cleric Level | Prepared Spells |
|---|---|
| 3 | Spare the Dying, Ray of Sickness, Inflict Wounds, Bane |
| 5 | Animate Dead, Vampiric Touch |
| 7 | Blight, Death Ward |
| 9 | Antilife Shell, Cloudkill |
Level 3: Pardon Death
As a reaction, you present your Holy Symbol and expend a use of your Channel Divinity to evoke Necrotic energy that can keep an ally from falling dead whilst unconscious within the range of Spare the Dying (15 feet at Cleric level 1, which doubles at level 5 (30 ft.), 11 (60 ft.), and 17 (120 ft.)).
Level 6: Inescapable Destruction
Starting at 6th level, your ability to channel negative energy becomes more potent. Necrotic damage dealt by your cleric spells and Channel Divinity options ignores resistance to necrotic damage.
Level 17: Improved Reaper
Starting at 17th level, when you cast a necromancy spell of 1st through 5th level that targets only one creature, the spell can instead target two creatures within range and within 5 feet of each other. If the spell consumes its material components, you must provide them for each target.
