Warlock
Base Class: Warlock

Warlocks are drawn to power, but subservience is too high a price to pay for some.  Out of moral clarity or perhaps pure hubris they choose to rebel against their patron.  Those that survive become Pactbreakers, dedicated to liberty(their own at least) and throwing off the chains of supernatural patrons, they serve as a patron for themselves to pursue their own ends.

Expanded Spell List

Pactbreakers gain access to a list of spells designed to help them gain and maintain their freedom.

Spell Level Spells
1 Detect Evil and Good,Disguise Self
2 Alter Self,Lesser Restoration
3 Nondetection,Dispel Magic
4 Freedom of Movement,Polymorph
5 Scrying,Greater Restoration

Insubordinate Magic

Pact breakers are not bound by the limits of pact slots and cast spells their own way, using sheer force of will, in the form of Will Points, that can be used to cast more spells of lower level or fewer spells of higher level. You still learn spells in the same way as any warlock, but they have the ability to be more flexible about how many spells they cast and at what level.  You Cannot Cast Spells Using Pact Slots.  However, Mystic Arcana casting works the same way and is the only way for you to cast spells at Level 6 or higher.

Spell Level Will Points Cost
Level 1 1 point
Level 2 3 points
Level 3 5 points
Level 4 7 points
Level 5 9 points
Level 6+ Cannot be cast with Will Points

The number of will points that a warlock has varies by level and resets on a Long Rest

Warlock Level Will Points per Long Rest
1 3
2 6
3-4 18
5-6 30
7-8 42
9-10 72
11-16 81
17-20 108

Freedom Boons

[Replaces pact boons]

In Lieu of a Pact Boon you are encouraged to choose a Freedom Boon. You may not choose both.

Freedom from the Blade

You gain a bonus equal to  your charisma modifier to your armor class while you are not wearing heavy armor or carrying a shield.

Freedom From the Tome

You may cast Warlock Spells up to 5th Level that you don't know by paying Will Points equal to the Spell's Level, but you may not cast the same spell again until you have finished a long rest.

Spell Level Will Points Cost
Level 1 2 point
Level 2 5 points
Level 3 8 points
Level 4 11 points
Level 5 18 points
Level 6+ Cannot be cast with Will Points

Freedom Reins

You learn the Find Familiar spell and can cast it as a ritual. The spell doesn’t count against your number of spells known.

When you cast the spell, you can choose one of the normal forms for your familiar or one of the following special forms: Elk, Ox, or Wolf

These  special familiars can serve as a [Tooltip Not Found], but only for you and their [Tooltip Not Found] is doubled for this purpose.

Not Today, Patron

When you choose this class, also choose the Patron that you had your original pact with.  You learn Counterspell if you don't already know it.  You may cast it without expending a spell slot or Will points if the spell it is targeting is any of the spells mentioned in that subclass description.  The level of Counterspell equals the highest level Warlock spell that you know.  You may use this ability once and you regain all uses after finishing a short or long rest.

Independent Mind

You are immune to the [Tooltip Not Found] condition and have resistance to psychic damage.

Turnabout

When you are targeted by a spell or ability that uses a Charisma-based attack, or Save DC,  or requires a Charisma saving throw, you may change the target to the caster instead of yourself.  Treat that instance of the spell as though you had cast and use your Charisma for attack rolls or spell save DC. You may use this ability once and regain its use after a short or long rest.
