College of the Hustle

Bards of the College of the Hustle are masters of deception and manipulation, thriving in the underbelly of society. They use their charisma and wit to weave intricate webs of lies, extract favors, and navigate the murky waters of intrigue. They’ve learned these skills through their time living in Luxlect.

Level 3: Sleazy Skills

You gain proficiency in the Stealth and Deception skills. If you are already proficient in one or both of these skills, you can choose a different skill from the following list: Persuasion, Intimidation, Sleight of Hand, or Insight.

Level 3: Trickerous Influence

You can use your Bardic Inspiration to manipulate social interactions. When a creature adds your Bardic Inspiration die to a Charisma check, you can choose one of the following effects:

Subtle Suggestion: If the check is to persuade someone, you can implant a subtle suggestion in the target's mind. The suggestion must be phrased in a way that sounds reasonable and aligns with the target's desires or beliefs.

Veiled Threat: If the check is to intimidate someone, you can instill a sense of unease and dread in the target. The target has disadvantage on the next saving throw it makes before the end of its next turn.

Deceptive Insight: If the check is to deceive someone, you gain insight into the target's thoughts and motivations. You learn one thing the target is most afraid of or one secret it is hiding.

Level 6: Bribe

You become adept at using money and favors to get what you want. You have advantage on Persuasion checks made to offer a bribe, and the target of your bribe is more likely to accept it.

Level 14: Two Steps Ahead

You gain the ability to anticipate and exploit your opponents' weaknesses. As a reaction when a creature within 60 feet of you makes an attack roll, saving throw, or ability check, you can impose disadvantage on the roll. You can use this feature a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus, and you regain all expended uses when you take a long rest.
