Base Class: Bard
Bards of the College of Jake learn the fundamentals of helping others and what it means to put in an effort. They spread around the world, attempting to assist as many as they can, often with an inspiring effect that encourages others to join. If you've ever heard the adage -- most often said by really old dwarves and elves -- about "giving the ol' college try," you've probably found yourself face-to-face with someone from the College of Jake.
Level 3: Bonus Proficiencies
When you join the College of Jake at 3rd level, you gain proficiency with three skills of your choice. Recommendations include: World Travel, Opening a Software-Bug-Related Can Of Worms That Affects an Entire Company, Speed Reading.
Level 3: Quick (and Inspiring) Wit
Also at 3rd level, your quick wit allows you to jump in and help inspire another creature who might otherwise miss an attack, fail a check or otherwise botch a roll. When a creature that you can see within 60 feet of you makes an attack roll, ability check or saving throw, you can use your reaction to grant them a Bardic Inspiration die (d6) to add to their total. This can be done after they have rolled their die, but before the DM has determined whether the roll has succeeded or failed. The effect fails if the creature is unable to hear your witty banter.
Level 6: Infectious Smile
Your infectious smile can both reassure your allies and disarm your enemies. As an action, you can expend one Bardic Inspiration die to either assist or hinder any creatures you choose in a 60-foot circle around you that can see you. Roll your Bardic inspiration die once and either add or subtract that amount from each of your chosen creatures' next attack rolls. Do your DM a favor and keep track of which creatures are affected and whether this adds or subtracts from that creature's next roll.
This expends one use of your Bardic Inspiration. You can do this once per short rest.
Level 14: Rallying Life Event
As a 14th-level alumni of the College of Jake, your world travels, life experiences and helpful persistence have found you with a vast array of friends and family that spans well beyond the Sword Coast and even the Western Faerun. When needed, you can call upon this hoard of pals and buds to join you in celebrating or assisting in some life event. This lifting of spirits gives every creature that you choose in a 60-foot radius that can see or hear you one Bardic Inspiration die. This does not expend any of your remaining Bardic Inspiration. Creatures that already have a Bardic Inspiration die from you do not get another. Each creature that receives a Bardic Inspiration die must use it within the next 10 minutes.
