Paladin
Base Class: Paladin

Paladins who swear this oath believe that only through fire—whether literal or metaphorical—can the world be made pure. Their doctrine includes:

  • Purge Corruption: Evil must be cleansed from the world, root and stem.

  • Stand Unyielding: Do not falter in the face of darkness. Be the flame that others rally to.

  • Temper the Flame: Righteousness without wisdom becomes zealotry. Fire should warm as well as burn.

  • Shine in Darkness: Be a beacon. Let no shadow go unchallenged.

Channel Divinity

When you take this oath at 3rd level, you gain the following Channel Divinity options:

  • Silver Flame’s Judgement: As an action, you present your holy symbol and evoke the purifying flame. Each creature of your choice within 30 feet must make a Constitution saving throw. On a failed save, they take radiant damage equal to 2d10 + your Paladin level and are blinded until the end of your next turn. On a successful save, they take half damage and aren't blinded.

  • Radiant Weaponry: As a bonus action, imbue your weapon with searing flame. For 1 minute, your weapon attacks deal an extra 1d6 radiant damage. Additionally, any creature hit by the weapon must succeed on a Strength saving throw or be pushed 10 feet away from you.

Oath Spells

You gain oath spells at the paladin levels listed.

  • 3rd — Fireball, Detect Evil and Good
  • 5th — Burning Hands, Zone of Truth
  • 9th — Flame Blade, Beacon of Hope
  • 13th — Wall of Fire, Guardian of Faith
  • 17th — Flame Strike, Greater Restoration

Aura of Purity

You and friendly creatures within 10 feet of you have resistance to fire and radiant damage. Additionally, any creature that starts its turn in the aura can end one of the following conditions: blinded, charmed, or frightened.

At 18th level, the range of this aura increases to 30 feet.

Brand of the Flame

When you hit a creature with a weapon attack, you can mark it with the Brand of the Flame (no action required). The next time the creature deals damage to a creature other than you, it takes radiant damage equal to your Charisma modifier + your Paladin level, and the brand ends.

You can use this feature a number of times equal to your Charisma modifier (minimum once), regaining all uses after a long rest.

Avatar of the Silver Flame

As an action, you can transform into a blazing avatar of purity for 1 minute. You gain the following benefits:

  • Wings of fire sprout from your back, giving you a flying speed of 60 feet.

  • Your weapon attacks deal an additional 2d8 radiant damage.

  • You emit bright light in a 30-foot radius and dim light for another 30 feet. Enemies in the bright light have disadvantage on saving throws against being frightened or charmed.

  • When you take damage, you can use your reaction to flare the flame outward. All enemies within 10 feet take radiant damage equal to half the damage you just took.

Once you use this feature, you can’t use it again until you finish a long rest.
