Monk
Base Class: Monk

The Warrior of Magic is an unorthodox fighting style that combines the trainings of other monk paths with the ability to weave spells into their actions. These monks rely on clever, strategic planning to make the most of their spells, while still remaining a highly dangerous physical threat. Warriors that follow this path are often eccentric and usually live very different lives than traditional monks.

Level 3: Unique Casting

Starting at 3rd level, you have learned to cast spells.

Cantrips. You know three cantrips of your choice from the Wizard spell list.

Whenever you gain a Monk level, you can replace one of your cantrips with another Wizard cantrip of your choice.

When you reach Monk level 10, you learn another Wizard cantrip of your choice.

Spell Slots. The Warrior of Magic Spellcasting table shows how many spell slots you have to cast your level 1+ spells. You regain all expended spell slots when you finish a Long Rest.

Prepared Spells of Level 1+. You prepare the list of level 1+ spells that are available for you to cast with this feature. To start, choose three level 1 Wizard spells.

The number of spells on your list increases as you gain Monk levels, as shown in the Prepared Spells column of the Warrior of Magic Spellcasting table. Whenever that number increases, choose additional Wizard spells until the number of spells on your list matches the number in the Warrior of Magic Spellcasting table. The chosen spells must be of a level for which you have spell slots. For example, if you’re a level 7 Monk, your list of prepared spells can include five Wizard spells of level 1 or 2 in any combination.

Changing Your Prepared Spells. Whenever you gain a Monk level, you can replace one spell on your list with another Wizard spell for which you have spell slots.

Spellcasting Ability. Wisdom is your spellcasting ability for your Wizard spells.

Spellcasting Focus. You can use your fists or a Monk Weapon as a Spellcasting Focus for your Wizard spells.

Level 3: Formless Spell

Starting at 3rd level, you learn to cast spells and strike at the same time.

Immediately after you cast a spell from the Warrior of Magic Spell List, you can make an Unarmed Strike or Monk Weapon Attack as part of casting the spell. If the spell requires an attack roll, use your Strike’s result to determine the outcome of both the strike and the spell. If the spell requires a saving throw, the target of the Strike rolls its save normally. You may choose the order in which the effects of the strike and spell happen.

You may only use Formless Spell if you physically attack the target as part of using this feature.

Level 6: Spell Echo

Starting at 6th level, when you use Formless Spell with a leveled spell, your body retains the memory of that spell. The next time you use Formless Spell, you may cast the same spell again without expending a spell slot.

You must use a number of Focus Points equal to double the spell's level to cast the spell without using a spell slot.

Level 11: Magical Movement

Starting at 11th level, when a creature hits you with an attack, you may use your reaction to teleport away in a blur of motion. The attack automatically misses, and you appear up to 30 feet away to an unoccupied space you can see.

You can use this feature once per Short or Long Rest. You may also restore its use by expending a spell slot of 2nd level or higher (no action required).

Level 17: Destructive Spell

Starting at 17th level, you can force your body to unleash its maximum arcane and martial potential.

When you cast a leveled spell using Formless Spell, you can choose to use 5 Focus Points to deal maximum damage on both the spell and the strike used with it.
