Base Class: Monk

Those who dedicate their lives to understanding and shaping the Aether are known as Aether Shapers. These monks channel the eternal stream to heal, shield, or strike, standing on the threshold between life and transcendence.

Level 3: Level 3: Mysticism

You know the Mage Hand spell. Wisdom is your spellcasting ability for it.

Level 3: Level 3: Aether Reach

As a bonus action, you can spend 2 Focus Points to channel the Aether for 1 minute. While active, you can use a bonus action each turn to affect a creature or object within 30 feet:

  • Creature: It must succeed on a Wisdom saving throw (DC = 8 + Proficiency Bonus + Wisdom modifier) or have its speed reduced to 0 and be moved up to 10 feet in any direction. It falls if suspended when the effect ends.
  • Object: You move a Huge or smaller object 15 feet if it’s not worn or carried. If worn or carried, the creature must make a Strength saving throw or have the object pulled 15 feet away.

Enhanced Effects: When activating this feature, you may:

  • Spend 1 extra Focus Point to increase the range to 60 feet.
  • Spend 1 extra Focus Point to impose disadvantage on the saving throw.

Level 6: Level 6: Chosen Philosophy

Choose one path: BalanceForce, or Tranquility. Your choice augments Aether Reach and  affects later features.

Balance

Balance: If a creature succeeds on its save, you regain the Focus Points spent.

Force

Force: On a failed save, the target takes force damage equal to three Martial Arts dice.

Tranquility

Tranquility: You may use Aether Reach in place of one attack when you take the Attack action.

Level 11: Level 11: Aetheric Influence

You can cast Charm Person a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus per long rest. When you do, you may spend 1 Focus Point to prevent the target from knowing it was charmed or targeted.

Level 17: Level 17: Aetheric Understanding

Your chosen Philosophy evolves:

Balance

Balance: Targets affected by Aether Reach are also subject to Stunning Strike.

Force

Force: You heal for half the damage dealt by Aether Reach.

Tranquility

Tranquility: Aether Reach always uses both Enhanced Effects for 1 Focus Point.
