Oath of the Suffering 2024

Devoted to the Oath of Shared Agony, find unity and strength in the recognition that suffering is a fundamental part of existence, and through shared burdens, they forge unbreakable bonds.

Level 3: Suffering Spells

An Oath of Suffering paladin gains the following spells at the paladin levels listed.

3rd bane, inflict wounds

5th spiritual weapon, ray of enfeeblement

9th bestow curse, vampiric touch

13th blight, black tentacles

17th raise dead, insect plague

Level 3: Channel Divinity

Gains the following two Channel Divinity options.

Death's Grip Upon You: As an action, target one creature within 40 feet. The target makes a strength saving throw. Creatures bigger than the paladin make the save at disadvantage. On a failure, the target is pulled adjacent taking a weapon or unarmed attack.

Mutual Suffering: As an action, each visible creature of the paladin’s choice within 30 make a Wisdom saving throw. On a failure, they take half the damage they deal to you or visible allies until the start of your next turn.

Level 7: Aura of Antilife

You and allies within 10 feet reduce damage from spells by an amount equal to your Charisma modifier + your proficiency bonus.

At 18th level, the range of this aura increases to 30 feet.

Level 15: The Benefits to Pain

• When you are hit by a melee attack, the attacker takes necrotic damage equal to your Charisma modifier.
• When you land a killing blow, you may force a creature within 30 feet to make a Strength saving throw. On a failure, it is pulled adjacent to you.

Level 20: Rotten Strike

Once per turn, when you hit a creature with Divine Smite, that target suffers delayed rot. At the start of its next turn, roll half the smite dice used (rounded down). The target takes that much radiant damage, and you heal for the same amount, even if you are unconscious.

If you have no remaining spell slots, you can instead regain hit points equal to your weapon’s damage die once per turn when you hit with a weapon attack.
