A deadly fusion of motion, mathematics, and murder, the Way of the Gun Kata is a discipline born from analysis of thousands of firefights and gunfights. Practitioners predict enemy movements by probability, moving through combat like a dance of death, turning the battlefield into a geometric canvas of destruction. Whether in service of tyrants, rebellion, or cold philosophy, a Gun Kata monk makes every bullet count and every movement lethal.

Bullet Form

You have trained to wield firearms as extensions of your body.

  • Firearm Proficiency: You gain proficiency with firearms.

  • Gun Kata Strikes: While wielding a firearm in one or both hands, you can use it to make unarmed strikes. These strikes deal your normal unarmed strike damage, and you can apply your Martial Arts and Flurry of Blows features to them.

  • Calculated Volley: If you use a firearm to make an attack as part of the Attack action, you may make a melee unarmed strike as a bonus action. Alternatively, if you make an unarmed strike, you may make a firearm attack as a bonus action (you must have a firearm in hand and ammo loaded).

Stochastic Defense

You are trained to move where enemies are least likely to strike. When a creature misses you with a melee or ranged attack, you can use your reaction to move 10 feet without provoking opportunity attacks. While not wearing armor and not wielding a shield, your AC increases by +1 against ranged attacks.

Probability Matrix

You’ve internalized the angles of threat. When you are targeted by a ranged weapon attack, you may spend 1 ki point to impose disadvantage on the attack roll. When you make a firearm attack, you can spend 1 ki point to ricochet the shot. Choose a second target within 10 feet of the first, make a new attack roll against the second target. This counts as part of the same action, you cant spend ki again on this second attack.

Bullet Meditation

Your body and gun move as one unstoppable and serene. You gain the following:

  • When you use Flurry of Blows, you can substitute any number of the unarmed strikes with firearm attacks.

  • You can now reload any firearm you’re holding as a free action on your turn, and you ignore the Loading property of firearms.

  • Whenever you hit a creature with both an unarmed strike and a firearm attack on the same turn, you gain half cover until the start of your next turn.

Death Geometry

You become a living algorithm of violence. Once per turn, when you make an attack roll with a firearm or unarmed strike, you can choose to automatically hit. You must declare this before the roll.

Additionally, when you hit three or more creatures with firearm attacks on the same turn, you may spend 2 ki points to unleash a finishing pattern. Each creature that you hit prior to activation must make a Dexterity saving throw (DC = 8 + your proficiency bonus + your Wisdom modifier) or take 4d10 force damage and be knocked prone. Creatures that succeed take half and are not knocked prone.

Finally, you can use Flurry of Blows as part of your reaction once per short or long rest when you are attacked, turning defense into a counter-offensive flurry of motion and gunfire.
