Ranger
Base Class: Ranger

read short description.

ranger's ally

At 3rd level, you gain a beast companion that accompanies you on your adventures and is trained to fight alongside you. Choose a creature that is no larger than the large size category and that has a challenge rating of 3 or lower. the creature must also have an intelligence score of 10 or lower.

Add your proficiency bonus to the beast's AC, attack rolls, and damage rolls, as well as to any saving throws and skills it is proficient in. Its hit point maximum is determined by rolling your hit die, equal to your current hit die total (current level x d10), plus it's constitution, the same as you would roll your own hit dice for leveling up.

The creature obeys your commands as best as it can. It takes its turn on your initiative, though it doesn't take an action unless you command it to. On your turn, you can verbally command the beast where to move (no action required by you).

You can use your bonus action to verbally command it to take the Attack, Dash, Disengage, Dodge, or Help action. Once you have the Extra Attack feature, both you and your creature gain it's benefits. (meaning both you and your creature may attack twice on your separate actions, if your creature didn't already have a multi attack option.)

as you gain experience in this class, your creature will gain the same ranger abilities as you. (this only applies to ranger skills, ability score increases and feats if your creature meets the requirements)

blurring the lines

you now have all the abilities your creature has

examples include, but are not limited to

pack tactics
keen sight and smell

pounce

water breathing

ect.

your creature may now wield any single magic item of your choosing as though it were attuned to it this includes light weapons, though you will have to describe how your creature uses them.

perfect sync

your creature can now communicate with you telepathically. you may now command your creature as a free action instead of a bonus action. what's more, your creature can now cast your spells as though you were casting them yourself, on its action (this still costs you a spell slot for the equivenlet spell)

become one

using your ranger magic and the bond you have formed with your companion, you combined into one being for up to 1 minute.  you choose to describe what this looks like. you gain the following benefits

  your size increases to large

you take the total of your two stats combined as your base stats (max of 30).

your total HP is the combined total of both you and your companion's current hp. this form is treated with the same rules as polymorph when it comes to HP loss.

your AC increases by +2

your speed who ever has the higher speed stat between the two of you. you also gain any flight speed your creature may have.

you retain all your current abilities, and have 2 extra attacks instead of 1.

After using this ability or if your hp is reduced to 0 in this form, you and your creature separate. you both take two levels of exhaustion and both of you have your total current hp haved.
