Paladin
Base Class: Paladin

You have sworn an oath not just to protect the world but to connect it. You wield a sacred weapon forged from light and memory, known as a Keyblade, an extension of your heart and will. Whether chosen by fate or born of a powerful connection, your bond with the Keyblade opens the path to Form Shifts—manifestations of your soul’s potential. Paladins of this oath travel between realms, guard the bonds between people, and fight to shield the hearts of others from corruption. Their enemies are isolation, despair, and darkness itself.

Tenets of the Keyblade

The tenets of the Oath of the Keyblade are unwritten but instinctively understood by those chosen to wield one:

Connection Is Strength. Bonds between hearts are more powerful than any weapon.

Guard the Light. Even in shadow, protect what remains of the light.

Balance the Self. Strength, wisdom, and vitality must be kept in harmony

Face the Darkness. Do not fear it. Stand against it

Level 3: Oath of the Keyblade Spells

The magic of your oath ensures you always have certain spells ready; when you reach a Paladin level specified in the Oath of the keyblade Spells table, you thereafter always have the listed spells prepared.

Oath of the Keyblade Spells
Paladin Level Spells
3 Sanctuary, Shield
5 Magic Weapon, Misty Step
9 Counterspell, Haste
13 Dimension Door, Freedom of Movement
17 Passwall, Wall of Force

Level 3: Keyblade Wielder

Your weapon becomes a reflection of your heart. When you take this oath, you gain the ability to wield a Keyblade.

  • You can summon your Keyblade as a bonus action. Any melee weapon you wield can be turned into your Keyblade by performing a 10-minute bonding ritual. It is considered magical and serves as your holy symbol. You can only have one Keyblade at a time. This increases to two at level 7, 3 at level 12, and 4 at level 20.
  • If you are disarmed, you can recall the Keyblade to your hand as a bonus action.
  • You can use your Charisma modifier instead of Strength for attack and damage rolls with this weapon.
  • Your Keyblade disappears if you fall unconscious or die

Level 3: Form Shift

You learn to shift into specialized combat forms. As a bonus action, you can enter a Form. You can enter a Form a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus per long rest. You can only be in one Form at a time, which lasts for 1 minute or until you dismiss it as a bonus action. Choose one Form when you enter the shift:

  • Valor Form (Offense). You can make one weapon attack as a bonus action on each of your turns. You can cast Divine Smite as part of this attack. Your movement speed increases by 10 feet. You have advantage on Strength (Athletics) checks and saving throws.
  • Wisdom Form (Magic). Your Divine Smite damage becomes force instead of radiant. You can cast paladin spells without somatic components and ignore the material component cost for paladin spells. When you cast a spell of 1st level or higher, you can move 10 feet without provoking opportunity attacks.
  • Guardian Form (Defense). You gain temporary hit points equal to your Charisma modifier + half your paladin level at the start of each of your turns. Allies within 10 feet of you gain a +1 bonus to AC and saving throws. While in this Form, when a creature hits an ally within 5 feet of you, you can use your reaction to impose disadvantage on the attack.

Level 7: Lightbond Aura

While you are not incapacitated, allies within 10 feet of you gain resistance to force, radiant and necrotic damage. Additionally, whenever you cast a spell on an ally, they can immediately move up to 10 feet as a reaction without provoking opportunity attacks.

At 18th level, this aura extends to 30 feet.

Level 15: Dual Form

You can now combine two Form effects. When you use Form Shift, choose two Forms instead of one. Both effects apply simultaneously.

While using Dual Form, you gain resistance to damage dealt by spells, and when you hit with a weapon attack, you can deal an extra 1d6 damage of your choice: fire, lightning, radiant, or force.

You can use Dual Form once per long rest, or by expending a 4th-level spell slot or higher.

Level 20: Final Form - Master of Hearts

You take on the true expression of your inner self. As a bonus action, you can unleash your Final Form for 1 minute. For the duration:

  • You hover and gain a flying speed of 60 feet.
  • Your Keyblade attacks score a critical hit on a roll of 19 or 20.
  • You gain resistance to all damage and cannot be charmed or frightened.
  • When you hit a creature with a Keyblade attack, you can force it to make a Wisdom saving throw or become blinded and stunned until the end of your next turn. You can use this feature up to 3 times per use of you Master of Hearts feature.
  • You can cast one spell of 3rd level or lower as a bonus action once on each of your turns during this Form.

Once you use this feature, you can’t use it again until you finish a long rest. You can also activate it by expending a 5th-level spell slot.
