Base Class: Bard
"Art is not merely expression—it is control. Control of space, of sound, of trajectory. To perform is to measure the distance between perfection and disaster, and choose only the former.”
The College of Precision is home to bards who view the world through a lens of calculated grace and razor-sharp awareness. These performers do not rely on spontaneity or chaos. Instead, they rehearse to the beat of geometry, memorize their scales like equations, and cast spells with the accuracy of an arrow splitting a thread midair. To them, performance is not about excess or flair—it is about control, clarity, and intent.
Bards of this college often train in disciplines outside traditional performance. Many study physics, astronomy, or calligraphy. Some are trained in archery, knife-throwing, or martial displays requiring pinpoint accuracy. Their magic and movements are extensions of the same philosophy: that precision itself is a kind of beauty—and power.
In battle, these bards demonstrate their mastery by directing spells that arc impossibly far, launching magical projectiles without instruments, or knocking aside enemy attacks with the ease of a conductor flicking their baton. They turn every fight into choreography. Each word they speak lands exactly where they intend—be it in the heart of an enemy or the ear of an ally who needs it most.
The College of Precision appeals to adventurers who value finesse over force, who strike not first, but with purpose. Whether sniping foes from a great distance, shielding their companions with well-timed parries, or simply enchanting their audiences from afar, these bards prove that the sharpest blade is the one perfectly aimed.
Precision Performer
Sharpened Aim.
You gain a +2 bonus to all ranged attack rolls, whether they are weapon or spell attacks.
Hit the Notes.
You can magically fire or throw ammunition without a physical weapon at a target within 30 feet. For example, you may hurl arrows, darts, or sling stones as ranged weapon attacks using Dexterity, even if you lack the bow or sling normally required. These attacks count as magical for overcoming resistance and immunity.
You are considered proficient with any type of ranged ammunition you use this way.
You may add your Charisma modifier instead of Dexterity when making these attacks, if you choose.
Your damage is equal to your Bardic Inspiration die.
Reach of the Voice
The range of all your bard spells and Hit the Notes is increased by 5 feet × your Bard level.
If a spell has a range of "self" or "touch," its range remains unchanged.
Reactive Deflection
When you or a creature within 30 feet of you is targeted by a ranged attack, you may use your reaction to attempt a deflection.
Roll your Bardic Inspiration die and reduce the attack roll by that number. Alternatively, you can expend a Bardic Inspiration to reduce the damage equal to your level plus your Bardic Inspiration die.
If this causes the attack to miss or deal 0 damage, the projectile is deflected.
You may then redirect the projectile to a new target within 30 feet of the original target. Make a ranged attack roll using your spell attack modifier. On a hit, the new target takes half the original damage type plus your Bardic Inspiration die.
You may use this feature a number of times equal to your Charisma modifier (minimum once) per long rest.
Conducting Trajectory
Once per turn, when you make a ranged attack roll and miss, you may reroll the attack once. You must use the new result.
Absolute Accuracy
Your ranged attacks score a critical hit on a roll of 19 or 20.
Additionally, your Bardic Inspiration dice may now be used by allies to reroll missed ranged attacks or increase the range of a spell or weapon attack by 30 feet when declared.
Deadly Precision
Once per long rest, you can expend your Bardic Inspiration die to roll it.
For 1 minute, the ranged attacks of your allies and yourself within a 30 feet radius sphere gain a bonus equal to your Bardic Inspiration die, and your allies can score a critical hit on a roll of 19 or 20.
