Base Class: Barbarian
Barbarian Primal Path
Your rage is guided by a Cursed Eye, a baleful mark bestowed by a vengeful spirit or ancient hex. This eye glows with an eerie light, granting you temporary resilience that you can turn against your foes, reflecting their harm at them as the curse weakens. The hex both empowers and burdens you, fueling your fury with every wound.
Cursed Gaze
3rd Level Feature
You gain a Cursed Eye, a supernatural mark that manifests as a glowing, otherworldly eye on your face, hand, or weapon (your choice). While raging, you gain temporary hit points equal to half your maximum hit points (rounded down) at the start of your rage. These temporary hit points last until the rage ends.
As a bonus action while raging, you can use your Cursed Eye to reflect damage onto a creature you can see within 30 feet. The target must make a Wisdom saving throw (DC equal to 8 + your proficiency bonus + your Constitution modifier). On a failure, the creature takes force damage equal to the amount of temporary hit points you are missing from the previous turn (e.g., if you have 10/20 THP, it takes 10 damage); they take half the damage if they succeed.
Cursed Eye power grows as you level.
- At level 6, you can choose to impose disadvantage on the target’s saving throw if you haven’t moved since the start of your turn, intensifying your baleful stare.
- At level 10, you can target up to two creatures you can see within 30 feet.
- At level 14, they can become permanently cursed by the Cursed Eye.
You can use this feature several times equal to your Constitution modifier (minimum 1), regaining all uses after a long rest.
Hexed Resilience
6th Level Feature
The curse hardens your spirit. While raging, you gain resistance to psychic damage, and when you use your Cursed Gaze, you can choose to impose disadvantage on the target’s saving throw if you haven’t moved since the start of your turn, intensifying your baleful stare.
Eye of Retribution
10th Level Feature
Your Cursed Eye grows more vengeful, striking multiple foes. You can target up to two creatures you can see within 30 feet, each making the same Wisdom saving throw. On a failure, those creatures take the same force damage and half if they succeed.
Additionally, when an attack hits an ally within 30 feet, you can use your reaction to take half the damage dealt to that ally, applied directly to your hit points (bypassing temporary hit points). You then reflect half of that taken damage as force damage to all creatures you can target with Cursed Gaze (up to the original limit of uses). Each target must succeed on a Wisdom saving throw (same DC) or take the reflected damage, half if they succeed.
You can use this reaction several times equal to your Constitution modifier (minimum 1), regaining all uses after a long rest.
Baleful Dominion
14th Level Feature
Your Cursed Eye can dominate and curse your foes. If a creature/s fails any saving throw from your Cursed Eye, it becomes permanently cursed by the Cursed Eye. While cursed, the creature/s takes all damage you receive (from temporary HP up to your last HP) at the start of your turn (of the same type) with no saving throw. The curse ends if you choose to release the creature (a bonus action), your rage ends, or you or the cursed creature/s dies.
You also have immunity from being magically charmed.
While permanently cursed by the Cursed Eye, you can use your reaction to activate Baleful Dominion.
Baleful Dominion: Each cursed creature within 30 feet of you must make a Wisdom saving throw (same DC) or be dominated. While dominated, they will use their action to follow your command even against their will.
- The cursed creature can try to resist your control over it at the start of its next turn; it will have a disadvantage on its saving throw if its HP is lower than your HP.
- You can use this feature once per use of the Cursed Eye.
